iPhone 5 Production Ramps Up to 150000 Per Day

The iPhone 5 release date is very close now and from what we hear today, it seems it could be very close. Reports are indicating that production of the iPhone 5 has just been ramped up to 150,000 units per day. Apple expect Foxconn to fulfill orders of about 5 to 6 million units by the end of September, perhaps for a launch in the first week of October.

To give some idea of how many units Apple is having created, Digitimes reports that about 22 million will be made and shipped during the forth quarter. All of the component manufacturers are reportedly doing well with fulfilling orders. At the moment there’s a decrease in iPhone 4 shipments which is also a big hint that we’ll get the next generation device soon.

Expect to hear something on either the 19th or 26th September with a launch not too long after that.
