The WSJ is reporting today that when the iPhone 5 is released, it will also be made available to those on the Sprint network. If this ends up being a correct report then Sprint will become the third official carrier in the US to get the iPhone. This of course follows the original AT&T and Verizon networks.
The iPhone 5 release date is now expected to be in October with an estimated announcement date being the end of September. Sprint is a fairly large network that currently has around 52 million subscribers. Verizon and AT&T each have more at 106M and 99M respectively. Sprint expects to do well with the iPhone 5 when it launches.
From what we understand, Sprint will also have the iPhone 5 available at the same time as the other networks in the US.
Expect to see a slimmer device with better cameras and a faster CPU arrive.
