iPhone 4 UK Price – How much will it be?

We have all the official details on the next generation Apple [AAPL] iPhone 4, but many are left wondering what the iPhone 4 UK price will be. We know the US pricing already, in that it’s $199 for a 16GB model for new contracts and those eligible for an upgrade, and $299 for the 32GB model. Prices are higher for those upgrading early, or for those purchasing a no commitment device AKA PAYG in the UK.

Over here in the UK, we have four networks who have all announced that they will be selling the iPhone 4. These include O2, Orange, Vodafone and T-Mobile. What we hope to see is some competitive pricing where we will see the iPhone 4 going for free on the higher end contracts and getting progressively more expensive as you spend less per month, or commit to a shorter contract length.

iPhone 4 UK Price estimations

We have heard prices around the £169 mark on estimations over at Geeky Gadgets for example. We suspect that this pricing will be for the £30 – £35/month plans. If you decide to take out a £45/month or higher plan, we suspect you might pick up an iPhone 4 for free.

For those wanting a PAYG iPhone 4, I’d suggest you look at the £400+ price point for the 16GB model.

What are you willing to pay for the iPhone 4 in the UK? Will it match the original pricing of the iPhone 3GS? or will it be a little cheaper now that three other networks in the UK are selling the device? Let us know in the comments.

  1. I pay £40 pcm for my 3gS. i would pay around £150 to upgrade but to be honest i would need to see the new iOS 4 in operation on my 3gS first. i’ve got about 12 months outstanding on my contract though so don’t fancy my chances!!!

  2. hi i want to get the iphone 4 but im confused i dont want to have a contract but want it as pay as you go.im planning on gettting it from the us and get it unlocked.im wondering how much it will cost me if i do that

    • The price over there I believe is $499 and $599 for the 16GB/32GB and then you’ll need to ship it and will have import fees. It would probably work out a bit cheaper getting it in the UK considering the exchange rate at the moment.

£150 upgrade on a £40 a month! I like the look of the iPhone 4 too but I think everyone may be getting a bit over excited… Even if it does everything it says it does well its still not THAT far from completely free phones like Desire and Xperia….

Perhaps if more people took this view and holstered their buying guns then the operators would introduce at a sane level. As it is they are probably trawling sites like these trying to gauge what they can prise out of all the impetuous early adopters…. Probably about £150 if many of these posts are anything to go by.

My gun fires at FREE for a 16gb ip4 on £40+ per month subscription…

Hi. I’m also waiting for the iphone. I currently live in Portugal, and i’m planning on getting in from UK.
(I’ll be in London in August).
I hope that they’ll cut the prices a little bit.
