Earlier this year some details of a new Foxconn factory to be created in Brazil were announced. Some expected this wouldn’t happen although we now hear that the factory will begin shipping the iPad by the end of this year.
“At first many doubted, but it will be the first time that [Apple] will produce iPads outside Chinese territory,”
The new Foxconn factory is located in Jundiai and has been constructed by Foxconn and a joint venture with the government.
From reports we also read that it is likely the factory in Brazil will begin to manufacture the iPad 3 when it opens up although this is more speculation than fact.
