The HP Slate running webOS could have an official name now. The name that is believed to be final is HP PALMPAD. The reason for believing this is due to some documents where the trademark was filed for that name by HP.
The trademark was filed on July 9 by HP and is listed in a number of categories as follows…
Computers, computer hardware, computer software, computer peripherals, portable computers, handheld and mobile computers, PDAs, electronic notepads, mobile digital electronic devices
It isn’t known when the HP PALMPAD will officially launch although rumours have pointed to 3rd quarter 2010 although we think that it might move in to Q4 2010 depending on how ready webOS is when running on the new hardware.
