Hitachi Gesture Based Interface Unveiled

Hitachi is showing off it’s gesture-based interface. We have seen similar devices before, but it’s always good to see steps bringing technology closer to the screens seen on Minority Report.

Hitachi will be using the technology on digital signage that will allow users to integrate more with what it on display without having to touch the screen. As well as signage, the product could be used in the medical field to enable doctors to interact with screens without touching them.

It isn’t clear how this kind of technology could be integrated in to the home as we have all been using keyboards and mice as well as a few touch-screen computers for quite a few years now. Either way, it still looks very interesting and a cool way to find and manipulate information on a screen.
