Google Instant Search Announced

Google [GOOG] has updated its search services by providing instant search results. The service is called Google Instant and allows you to see search results as you type in what you are looking for.

For example in the UK if you hit type A in to the search box, Argos is at the top of the results pages. Add a p to the search box and the results switch to show Apple in the top place.

According to Google, tests indicate that there are time savings by creating search results on the fly as users type.

As for availability, Google Instant Search is available now for those logged in to Google. Just log in to your google account, navigate to google.com and start searching.

For mobile devices, we have been told that we can expect to see this service appear in the fall.
