Garmin-ASUS are to unveil their first Android smartphone this year at MWC 2010. The unveiling of the phone will be the beginning of what is believed to be 4 – 5 new Windows Mobile and Android phones being launched this year.
Garmin-ASUS hope to shift about 1 million units this year although hopefully they don’t follow the G60 pictured above and take years to launch after the official announcement.
The M10 is also being announced at MWC 2010 that will run Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Powering the M10 is a Qualcomm processor running at 600MHz and the screen will measure 3.5 inches and have a resistive touch panel rather than capacitive. Of course GPS functionality will be built in to the phone and mapping software will be provided by Garmin.
The Garmin M10 is expected to launch with a price tag of $434.40 in Taiwan as early as next month.
