Garmin have introduced a new satnav designed specifically for bikers. The navigation unit is called the Garmin Zumo 220 and features a 3.5 inch colour touchscreen that has a resolution of 320×240 pixels.
Bluetooth is built in that allows text to speech guidance to be sent over to a bluetooth headset. A loud speaker is also built in for audio. As for extras, it is reported that a lane assist feature is included along with an off-road navigation function.
Pre-loaded maps of the US, Canada and Puerto Rico are included with the device as well as six million points of interest.
What sets the Zumo 220 apart from a regular in-car satnav device is that it’s built more ruggedly and can handle fuel spray, water and the resistive touchscreen can be used with gloves.
When launched in March the Zumo will cost $600.
