Over the weekend, a new version of Fring for iPhone was added to the app store. The new version brings FringOut to the iPhone allowing users to make calls worldwide for a fraction of the cost of regular international calls.
As well as bringing FringOut to the iPhone, the company is also offering a free $5 credit for iPhone users stuck in airports. There’s a procedure to follow where you send a picture of your ticket to Fring via Twitter and when validated, you get free $5 credit to make calls to those you might be missing.
The procedure is as follows…
1. Download fring on your iphone, android or nokia device
2. click the ‘fringOut’ icon in the fring app to activate fringOut account
3. tweet your fring user ID, include @fring and a picture of your valid ticket and #freefringairport (e.g. #freefringairport my @fring userID: Jimmy1709, www.mypicture.com)
4. then our team will credit your account $5 with calling credit (about enough for up to 12 hours of calling home)
Up to 1 million FringOut minutes are being given for free to users stranded. You can grab the update by checking for updates in the App Store, or if you don’t already use Fring, just do a search and it will pop up and be ready to install… assuming your iPhone still has juice left after not being plugged in for a few days.
