Light bulbs often have the problem that they can easily roll away and break if you are not careful. The flat bulb tackles this problem by being flattened out.
The flat bulb allows for better packing, shipping and for some reason looks quite cool… or as cool as a light bulb can get. The bulb is 1/3 smaller then a regular bulb also allowing for cheaper shipping too.
As this is a concept design I do not know if it will be coming out soon or if it is available just yet… maybe somewhere like Ikea could look in to it more!
