eBay launches a same-day delivery service

eBay has launched a new same-day delivery service. The trial is running in San Francisco area and allows buyers of items from certain eBay stores to have those items delivered same-day for just $5.

The tests are being done in an exclusive-beta that anybody can apply to. If accepted you get emailed a link to join up. To benefit from same-day delivery, you need to spend over $25 in selected stores.

Orders are delivered from 9am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 9am – 6pm Sunday. If getting the product same-day, you need to purchase at the latest, 30 minutes before the store closes for the day.

Stores offering same-day on eBay include Macy’s, Toys’R’Us, Target and Best Buy at the moment. If the trials are successful and there is enough interest to warrant keeping the service active, it will roll out to other locations.
