Canon EOS Rebel T1i DSLR Camera

canon-rebel-t1iCanon are launching the latest in the Rebel series of Cameras. It is named the Canon EOS Rebel T1i and the specs look fantastic.

It uses the XSi body but has a 15.1 megapixel sensor that can matches the one found on the 50D. 1080p HD video recording can also be done with this camera. It comes in with a very competitive price tag of $900.

The screen measures 3.0 inches and also offers Live View. The Digic IV processor is used for images and the ISO rating is capable of 12.8K. It comes with the kit lens which includes the 18-55 IS EF-S which is not a bad lens at all to start off with. There is an option to take just the body only if you want to choose your own lenses to work with.

The main difference between this cameras 1080p HD capabilities and the Canon 5D Mark II is that the MKII can capture at 30fps while this camera (the T1i) captures at 20 frames per second. If you step down a notch to 720p then this camera will also jump up to 30fps.

With it being a Rebel camera it puts it in to the entry level category which makes you wonder if there is an entry level any more with a camera boasting these specs.

“We are witnessing the emergence of a new phase in digital imaging history, as high-resolution still images and HD video can now both be produced in a hand-held device, for under $1,000. This is truly a great time to be involved in digital imaging as the advent of online communities are helping usher in this next great era in imaging,” stated Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A.

The Canon EOS Rebel T1i is an impressive looking camera and well worth waiting for if you are wanting an entry level camera as it packs in more features then anything in it’s class.
