BlackBerry are launching App World soon. A message on their site mentions that “tons of great applications designed for your BlackBerry smartphone in one convenient place”.
It was an expected move due to the iPhone app store being made available and the announcement of Windows Mobile 6.5 and their Windows Marketplace. BlackBerry are offering the store to allow you to download games, personal productivity software, social networking software to name a few.
The store isn’t available just yet but they do allow you to register your email address to be alerted of the launch. They do mention that a PayPal account is needed when access is granted. More details available here.
