ASUS P Series get Anti-Theft Technology

asus-p30-notebookASUS have announced that they will be using anti-theft technology from Intel on some of their notebook’s. The anti-theft software was designed to prevent documents stored on the laptop from being stolen by giving the user the ability to send the laptop a “poison pill” to remotely lock down the hardware.

The poison pill system works remotely and allows you to completely render the laptop useless until a pass phrase is entered. If the thief does not have the pass phrase then the laptop wont even function.

“With the incorporation of IntelĀ® Anti-Theft PC Protection technology in ASUS P30 and P80 notebooks, professionals can now conduct their businesses with greater assurance and without the fear of dire ramifications in the event of theft or loss,” said Mr. Henry Yeh, General Manager of ASUS’ Notebook Business Unit. “This added security capability in our P Series commercial notebooks makes it the definitive mobile companion for the professionals of today’s fast-paced market.”

The ASUS P30 and P80 notebooks are available immediately with this technology installed.
