Archos 70 7 Inch Android Tablet

Archos looks set to be launching another new Android based tablet. This time the tablet will be called the Archos 70 and will run the Android 2.2 operating system. The tablet has a 7 inch screen that has a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels.

The processor inside runs at 1GHz and is a Cortex A8 processor that also utilises a graphics accelerator.

For storage, the Archos 70 has an 8GB flash drive with an optional 250GB harddrive for those who want more storage space to store media content.

Other features include a microSD card slot. For connectivity it has Bluetooth 2.1+EDR along with Wireless at 802.11b/g/n. Other features show it has a USB port, HDMI, VGA camera on the front, a built in stand and an accelerometer.

We don’t know if this particular tablet will be upgradeable to Android 3.0 when it launches, but for now it actually looks quite an interesting device and an alternative to other options out there.

Price wise, its fairly reasonable at $274.99 for the 8GB model. If you opt for more storage (250GB HD) then the price goes up to $349.99.

  1. I’ve been interested in this and the current Archos 5, since I’m in need of a portable without the price tag of an iPad. I’m just wondering when this one will be released.
