Apple Changes Delivery Dates for Some new iPad Orders

The new iPad is expected to be delivered this Friday in several countries to those who pre-ordered in time. We are starting to hear some info that indicates some of the UK orders might be shipping a little later though with some readers of Macrumors getting new dates of March 20 instead of March 16 in their original email.

Despite our best efforts and those of our shipping partners to get your order to you on time, we want to inform you that it will not arrive on its originally scheduled delivery date.
Your new delivery date is 20/03/2012.

Once you receive your Shipment Notification email, you can check the delivery status of your order by clicking the Track Shipment button, or by visiting the Apple Store and clicking Account.

We regret the delay and apologise for the inconvenience.

Kind regards,
Apple Online Store

Apple seem to be sending out emails a lot quicker than the original iPad and iPhone emails in regards of shipping times. Normally Apple email on the day before or a couple of days before. This time around they have sent out tracking details about a week early which could mean those who pre-order start to get them early… but in the case above, it seems that this isn’t the case. There isn’t enough information at the moment to put together to find out if it’s a particular version of the new iPad or if an unlucky batch got delayed in customs as an example, but if you don’t get it this Friday as expected then you know why.
