Apple 25th Billionth App Downloader Named

Over the weekend, Apple hit a milestone in the total number of apps downloaded since the launch of the app store a few years back. There have now been 25 billion of them downloaded.

As mentioned a few weeks back, Apple decided to put up a price of $10,000 for the lucky person who downloaded the 25th billion app. That person has now been announced as Chunli Fu of Qingdao, China. The winner downloaded the Where’s My Water app.

“We’d like to thank our customers and developers for helping us achieve this historic milestone of 25 billion apps downloaded,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “When we launched the App Store less than four years ago, we never imagined that mobile apps would become the phenomenon they have, or that developers would create such an incredible selection of apps for iOS users.”
