Angry Birds Now at 50 Million Downloads

Rovio has announced that they have hit 50 million downloads of the popular Angry Birds series of games.

The breakdown wasn’t fully complete when Vesterbacka spoke to TechCrunch, but what he did say was that 10 million of those were downloads on Android and we suspect that the majority of the rest will lean towards iOS rather than webOS versions.

Another feature for Angry Birds was announced for Android that will allow players to pay to remove the ads. The service is called Bad Piggy Bank and is an in-game payment model that has been developed. As well as being able to remove ads, the new payment system will also let users buy upgrades such as the new Mighty Eagle.

Rovio also announced that a version for the PC, Mac as well as other consoles was on its way. Also some online functions will be added.
