Some rumours are floating around saying that Apple are about to launch a 4GB “budget” version of the 3G iPhone. This might be revealed at Macworld Expo next month.
From what Gizmodo have reported, the 4GB iPhone 3G will go on sale for $99 on a two-year contract in the US and be available at stores such as Wal-Mart and Best-Buy.
In the UK there is now a PAYG (Pay as you Go) iPhone that will set you back £342.50 for the 8GB model and £391.45 if you want to go for the 16GB model. Quite pricey but maybe worth it should you not want to be locked in to a long contract with a high monthly cost.
The good deal (apart from the high price) is that you get 12 months of unlimited data and Wi-Fi access as well as unlimited text or UK minutes although it does cost £30 a month of top-ups to get this offer.
