10 Million Galaxy SII Devices Sold to Sales Channel

Samsung has announced that 10 million Samsung Galaxy SII devices have been sold in to the sales channel. This number follows the launch of the smartphone in to the US market.

With the size of the US launch of the device, the sales channel went from 5 million to 10 million within eight weeks. 10 million was also a goal for the end of year which means Samsung is also ahead of its goal.

“In just five months the GALAXY S II has seen tremendous growth, reflecting its tremendous popularity with customers around the world, who in selecting the GALAXY S II as their device of choice have driven the device’s strong market position globally.”

Although some people don’t like companies quoting sales channel figures as they don’t represent how many people actually own the device, this is the standard way of reporting numbers. We found the Samsung Galaxy SII to be an excellent phone in our review and well worth looking at if you prefer not to get an iOS or WP7 device.
