Silicon Power have created the Armor A50 rugged hard drive that comes in four different capacities of 250GB, 320GB, 500GB and 640GB.
Each of the drives are built with an aluminium construction and actually meet military standards for being capable of drops and shock. The MIL-STD 810F is the standard that requires rugged drives to meet certain conditions. The Armor A50 drives meet those specs.
For connectivity you have a USB port working at either 2.0 for highspeed file transfers or 1.1 for legacy type stuff. The rugged drives also support a one touch backup system that allows specified data to easily backed up in a hassle free way.
No details on pricing or availability just yet though.
