Palmsize Helicopter - RC Living Room Flyer

April 27, 2007

Palmsize RC Helicopter
Tiny RC helicopters are great fun to play with. The main one you are probably aware of is the Picoz which came out late last year. The palmsize helicopter looks to be slightly smaller then the Picoz and it capable of being fully controlled. The helicopter can be turned left or right as is slowly moves forwards. It can also take off right from the palm of your hand. This is a perfect toy for those like me who like toys in the office.

The helicopter comes in 2 colour which are red or silver and each has a different frequency which allows 2 helicopters to be flown together. Luckily the helicopter is light enough not to actually break when it crashes.

The remote control is infrared, so you need to be in line of sight to use it although you would be stupid attempting to fly a helicopter you couldnt see. Attached on the front is a Multi colour LED for night flying. The helicopter is supposed to be flown indoors but can fly outside if there is ZERO wind. I did try an indoor helicopter once outside and smashed it with in seconds because of ignoring a zero wind rule :) For 15 mintues of charging you can get around 7 minutes of flying time… so maybe you need to purchase 3 to keep one in the air constantly.

FlyTech RC DragonFly

February 9, 2007

Dragonfly
RC flying toys are great. The FlyTech RC DragonFly ads a unique twist to the range of flying planes and helicopters by actually having wings. To make this actually work the DragonFly is constructed with light weight material. This allows the flapping wings to give enough uplift for this to fly. As seen in the video after the jump, the dragonfly can be kept in control, be used indoors and be a lot of fun to fly.

Build Your own RC Helicopter

December 27, 2006

RC Helicopter
We love RC helicopters here such as the Picoz Micro RC Helicopter, and other variations. If you are a fan of RC helicopters and would like to build your own then check out the site linked below. It details the steps that one guy took to build his own helicopter. No doubt, you need to have some good skills to create one of these indoor beauties and no doubt if you are not skilled then you best dish out 30 quid and buy one already made.

Micro Mosquito Helicopter - Picoz Beater

November 14, 2006

Micro Mosquito
The Micro Mosquito is another cool tony helicopter that you can fly from the comfort of your living room. It is similar to the Picoz, but is it better? The Picoz is very nicely priced at just short of 30 pounds. The Micro Mosquito is priced at just short of 70. The mosquito looks great. It defines what tiny is (well, at least for the next 2 months) and it is also very functional. In the box you get a launch pad, controller and the micro mosquito. 45 minutes of charging will get you about 10 minutes flying time which is not the best considering you have to wait patiently for 45 minutes for 10 minutes of paying. Appart from that it seems it cannot be faulted and would make an ideal present for those who want a cheaper alternative to the fully priced petrol powered rc helicopters.

Smallest RC Helicopter

September 22, 2006

Again, the RC Helicopters have been shrunk in size. The Pico Flyer is the smallest but is not publically available. The Picoz (picooz?, pico-z?) Micro RC Helicopter was the smallest. Now there is the smallest RC Helicopter which costs $79.99 and is really small :) It isnt as small as the Pico Flyer, but it still beats the record for publically available RC helicopters.

RC Helicopter

The helicopter works with 2 sets of blades which spin in opersite directions and are powered from 2 indipendent motors. The rotars can spin at various speeds giving full 360 degree precise control. It works with gyroscopic inertia which keeps the helicopter balanced and controlable.

It has a range of 50′ and has 2 LED’s for night time flying. The batter inside is good for about 8 minutes of flight.

RC Plane

September 5, 2006

This new RC plane has been launched. It is the new Airlifter although I am sure it doesnt actually lift anything but it’s self. We have run a number of RC products recently and this is because I think RC planes and helicopters are cool. We recently reviewed the Picoz Micro Helicopter and the X-Twin Bi-Plane which are both indoor tiny toys.

The new Airlifter is another RC plane to add to this collection and is a little larger then these small devices although it is not designed for indoor like the other 2. It has a nice sized 46 cm wing span and is 40 cm in length. It needs to be used in a large indoor building or outside in calm weather.

RC Plane

The airlifter RC plane is made of a compacted foam which is strong and can take a number of crashes. Hopefully there will not be too many of those.

It has a good range of 300ft and can pretty much fly on your first attempt. Just launch it and fly it. The 2 wing mounted motors will keep the plane flying for around 5 - 10 minutes at a rough guess.

Features

* A ready-to-fly camouflage print Airlifter.
* A pre-installed 2 Channel Digital Proportional Radio Control.
* An integral field charger/transmitter with an LED charging indicator and auto shut off facility when the battery is charged.
* Two independent speed controllers.
* Full throttle control.
* High wing configuration, for maximum stability.
* A range of up to 300ft.
* A ten minute charge is equal to a four minute flight.
* Made of tough, flexible Expanded Polypropylene Foam to absorb impact from a heavy landing.
* 27MHz split frequencies allow up to three different coloured models to be flown together on Bands A, B & C.
* Colours may vary.
* Full instructions.
* Suitable for ages 8 years+.
* Requires 6 x AA Batteries for the transmitter (not included) and a high capacity 4.8v NiMH Battery (included).

PicoZ Micro RC Helicopter

RC Helicopter

Mini indoor Picoz RC Helicopter

The PicoZ Micro Helicopter is an RC Helicopter that is small. Ok, it’s not as small as the Pico Flyer which we wrote about, nor is it as small as the Solar Powered Helicopter we also wrote about. But the former of those is not available to buy and the latter is wood and does not fly anyway :)

Along comes the PicoZ Micro Helicopter. The helicopter is designed for indoor use, comes with an infrared remote control which also acts as the charger for the copter. The rc helicopter is 17cm long and weighs just 10 grams. The infra red remote control has a wide beam and can keep the helicopter under control for up to 30ft which is probably larger then your average living room anyway.
