This concept idea is named the Outlet Wall. The Outlet Wall prevents the need of hiding cables behind your TV and instead allows you to hang them anywhere on the wall so that the "cords look pleasing".
It does have 1 benefit in that you'll never have to hunt around for somewhere to hook up power to your new surround sound system.
Imagine no more crowded outlets or multi-plug adapters.
