The Amazon Kindle 2 has now been launched and is available over at Amazon. This new eBook reader is a step up from the original Kindle which already was a fantastic device. More details after the jump.
The Kindle 2 boasts a number of new features that include 3G built in making downloads always available (over 230,000 books that is). It is lighter at 10.2 ounces, it measures just over 1/3 of an inch in thickness, books can be downloaded in under 60 seconds and stored in it’s 1.4GB of available internal memory. Page turns have also been improved with them now being 20% faster then the original Kindle. The battery is capable of 25% more then the previous version which allows for days of usage between charges. A Read-to-Me feature is included which automatically converts text to speech allowing you to “listen” to the books you have downloaded.
If you are in to reading and want access to a HUGE library of books on demand then it’s well worth getting a Kindle 2.
