Unbeatable.co.uk have reviewed the Nintendo Wii due out soon. The console is more powerful then a Game Cube but less powerful then the XBox360. The cool thing about it is the games. The motion sensing controller is what everyone wants to get their hands on and test.
The Dragon USB Mirror Card Reader is just another plain memory card reader. The only difference is that it's a mirror also, I guess made for girls or something. It has 5 slots built in and can read... CF I, CF II, Microdrive, SM, SD, miniSD, MMC, RS MMC, MS, MS MagicGate, MS PRO, MS Pro MagicGate, MS Duo, MS Duo MagicGate, MS Pro Duo, MS Pro Duo MagicGate, MS Pro Ultra II, MS ROM, MS Select, and T-Flash type cards. Not a bad array of cards there! I just wish they would make 1 format of memory card and that would make life so much better
A number of rumours and drawings of touch screen iPods have been going around the internet for a while now. Apple announced recently that 2007 will be their biggest year for devices. The iPod touch screen is one such rumour which methodshop even posted some iPod patent pictures early on this year.
Along with this rumour is more news (rumour) which say the touch screen iPod will have a wide screen aspect ratio unlike it's would be competitor from MS, the Zune. If iPod do go ahead with this and rumours are true then the Zune is doomed. Well, maybe anyway
A quote from someone anonymous...
'In a very matter of fact tone I was told that the product was not designed for the current generation of device, but the official 6G iPod¦ which is to be released in December. His company's device only comes onto the market shortly before then and would benefit hugely because the new iPod would sport a screen that filled the full side of the device and consequently offer higher resolution video¦ This is why Jobs isn't afraid of the Zune,' he said, though he had no knowledge of whether wireless would make an appearance.
The folks over at IGN in the UK managed to get their hands on a PS3. The PS3 looks amazing from what we can see in the video clip, and especially with some of the additions such as the photo album. The PS3 that is unboxed is a prototype, but still a PS3 and is pretty much final.

Imation have put together a nice movie called "Into The Blue" which shows the process of how HD and Blu-Ray discs are created. Check out the clip at the link below.
LaCie have created a Biometric Drive which has some good encryption built in. It's an external USB hard drive with a finger print scanner built in. The data is encrypted and it takes 3 succesful swipes of the same finger to allow unencrypted access to the drive. It's a great idea because anything portable can go missing. The cost of the device is often not even a fraction of the value of what data is stored in it and loosing data can cause headaches because of not knowing who is looking at it.
The biometric reader is Triple DES enabled and is compatible with both the MAC and PC.
The verdict: If you need to feel secure with your data on the go, the LaCie SAFE Mobile USB Hard Drive will do just that, but with costly tradeoffs.
We wrote about the Philips Readius yesterday and came across a couple of video reviews thanks to the guys over at TechEBlog for finding this.
The Readius is demonstrated in the video and you can see the ink changing as it is rolled up and un rolled. It's a huge jump forward in this area of technology. Paper thin roll up screens can open a whole new area for mobiles. Imagine being able to carry a 10" screen rolled up in the size of a pen, or even smaller laptops etc... The technology is still working with grey scales, but no doubt the colour and quicker screens are just around the corner.
Engadget have revealed that the Palm Treo 680 is to be sold via Cingular. The Palm Treo 680 is a nice looking device which has a built in QWERTY keyboard. The phone is capable of email, messaging and web access. The software has built in contacts, calendar, photos and music. The device, as seen below, has a nice large colour touch screen and the keyboard appears to look easy to use.
While watching the TV tonight I came across a quick review of the Philips Readius. It was good to see a video of this device actually working and I was impressed with the results. Yes, it's only gray scale currently, but given time a nice colour solution will be out and roll up screens will be the norm soon after that. The next few years are going to be very interesting.
This TV is huge. It's the new panasonic 103" high definition screen. The TH-103PF9 is over 6 feet wide and has full 1920 x 1080 HD resolution. The price is expected to be in the $70k range and needs to be professionally installed due to the size and weight of it.
The display was powered by a blu-ray drive in the video below and the colours and size were very impressive.
This new style of 3D screen got my attention today. It is called the Cheoptics360 XL and looks like a seriously nice set up. A lot of you will probably have seen the Helio Display or Fog Screen which projects an image on to fog so that the image looks like it's floating in front of you. Also there is the True 3D screen which works by firing laser at plasma which creates an image in the air. All this is great stuff and I love the new 3D technology type things.
The Cheoptics360 XL is capable of working in dark or light and a display of up to 30m can be achieve with it giving a scale of 1:1 on the images or video that is played. Also this screen can be viewed in all 360 degrees.
The image above shows a drawing of what this device looks like. Below is a video of this working.
