This next item reminds me of the minority report where your eye gets scanned and the store knows who you are, what you like and displays ads to suit. The eyebox2 was created by a Canadian professor who developed a system to count how many people looked at his ads. It uses infra red and recognises the familiar red-eye effect found in photos. By emitting infrared the system can track what you are looking at while walking around a store and exactly what shelf you looked at or what screens you looked at. It can scan from up to 10 meters away and about 2 – 3 meters horizontally too.

Cool but Geeky Watches

Geek watches are kind of cool and geeky at the same time. They tend to have extra functions such as calculators, radios, games, music or even pulse sensors on them. I have owned a few of them in my life too so when I come across watches like these its always good for a laugh. The watch above is the VoiceMaster which I honestly have no idea what its for. I am guessing that the SPEAK and arrow pointing to a little black area means you need to speak to it to record your voice for playback or something. Kind of funny to look back on but I can imagine it was cool at the time.
Concept MP3 Watch

Nathan Davis has created the concept MP3 player watch which is a silicone band that you wear on your wrist. It features an OLED display under a layer polycarbonate. To listen to the music, you need no wires. This watch features bluetooth technology along with bluetooth headphones to send the audio wirelessly.
This is another cool watch design from Yanko Design that we would love to see hit the market. No doubt in the next year or few this type of watch will be readily available.

Concept Digital Sand Watch

Here we have a new concept idea which is based on the idea of an hourglass that you would normally see with sand in it. The digital version shows time digitally in an hourglass shaped screen and also can be switched to digital mode. This is a cool watch to ook out and would be interesting to see hit the shelves although with that many concept ideas floating around there is only going to be a % of them that do make it. Hopefully, this is one of them.

EleeNo Kion Elite – Nice Watch

EleeNo have created the Kion Elite watch. This is another excellent watch on sale from the famous Tokyo Flash. The watch is 100% custom built out of Stainless Steel and has resin inlays. Time can be calculated looking at where the chevrons point to behind the minute arm. The minute arm then works as any regular watch would.
The wrist strap features an interesting butterfly clasp which connects underneath making the wrist strap look seemless also. The watch is also powered by a battery that will see it run for the next 4 years.

Features
* Time only
* Resin Inlay
* English & Japanese Instructions
* Butterfly Clasp
* Super 2035 movement
* 4 year battery life
* Water Resistant
* Currently only sold at Tokyoflash

Vulcania Watch

I have always been a fan of a good watch, my current being one from TokyoFlash who most of you are probably aware of. However, I came across the Vulcania Watch from HD3 which is another amazing looking watch. It used to be in concept but eventually became a real device. As can be seen in the pictures, the watch works in a deeply set 3D display. The watch can be seen through it’s front and back sapphire glass panels. As can be seen, this is one seriously cool watch. To add to it’s looks, the watch is made of titanium and platinum. Unfortunately only 11 of these watches will be made. If you are lucky to get your hands on one then let us know 🙂

Tokyo Flash Zero-G Watch

The Zero-G is the next cool watch to hit Tokyo Flash. The watch is super slim, unique and as can be expected, it tells the time in a weird way. The watch comes in either black or silver and has a mirrored LCD display. Unlike some other watches from Tokyo Flash, this one is always on and requires no button press to display the time.
The watch is a svelte 1.5mm thick and the watch weighs just 60 grams. It is available from TokyoFlash for 9800 yen.

JIT – Just in Time Watch

As well as looking quite cool, this watch is unique in the way of using GPS to track your location and then instead of displaying the actual time, it has a count down to when you should leave to get to your next appointment on time. It is an interesting idea which could work well if the company launch it. The JIT watch still needs some refinement but could still be a great seller as it is now.

Game and Watch Key Chains

Game and Watch games were huge in the 80s. I remember spending hours on the game that I had. The dual screens added more interest to the game and it was cool to carry one around. The old Nintendo dual screen games are what of course inspired the new Nintendo DS although the new Nintendo DS is obviously a tad more powerful 😉
These game and watch keychains are ideal for those who want a reminder of the past. They are the original games crammed in to a keyring sized console which you can carry around. At $8.99 they are a bargain and well worth checking out.

Concept – iPod Watch

iPods always have a cool sleek look to them and this is what must have inspired the designer of the iPod concept watch. Looking over it’s sleek looks you could see that this would look great to wear. The iPod watch would sport some nifty wireless ear phones and would guarantee that your not to loose it out of your pocket while running for the bus. Great idea and I do hope this one hits the market soon.

JLr7 Wrist Watch

Another beauty from TokyoFlash has gone on sale. This time it’s the JLr7 abstract LED watch. For those of you who like something different then your average watch then you need to visit TokyoFlash and get something cool.
The JLr7 is a sleek GunMetal and black finished watch which has a unique read out. If you are new to TokyoFlash watches then you will not be suprised at how it looks. If you are new then pay attention. The JLr7 has a blue or green LED readout which is animated. It gets its name from the top row of LED’s which form the letters JLr7 and was made by e35 (Eri and Eiichi). When friends glance over at the watch it will seem like some random pattern of lights. However, to the trained eye it will be much more. It will be the actual time.
Between 6pm and Midnight the watch animates every 15 minutes to give an effect of it malfunctioning. Through the day it will sit nice and dark until you press a button to show the time. The LED’s are set in to sections of 12 for the hour, 3 for the quarter past, halfpast and quarter to and 14 lights for the times inbetween. 3 other lights show the seconds ticking.
To know which lights mean which, there are subtle lines dividing sections of the screen so you can more easily calculate the time.
The JLr7 watch is available for 40 pounds in the UK, but TokyoFlash will ship anywhere. Just be mindful of the import fee’s associated.
Dot Matrix Watch
