Its not often you come across a watch with bluetooth and that is also capable of caller ID, showing text messages and control your phones music player. The Sony Ericsson MBW-100 does just that. It’s a bluetooth watch which communicates with your phone so that you can leave it in your pocket, or on your desk and as long as you are in range then you can see whats happening. I can only see the main benefit really being that caller ID would be handy if you use a bluetooth headset. I have to admit, that it’s a great looking watch though and I could get one because of it’s looks.

POV Christmas Tree

You have probably walked through an airport to see one of those fancy spinning screens which seems to always face you. You have also probably seen the frisby with a bank of LEDs on which you can throw and it spells out words in the air. The POV Christmas tree works on a similar principle. It is a bank of LEDs in the shape of a tree. The LEDs spin around a central point fast and it shows the appearance of a christmas tree out of LEDs. They are cool to watch. The tree is powered by 9V batteries and full instructions can be found at the link at the bottom of this post.
For those of you who are not sure what POV means, it is persistance of vision.

The Kenwood MediaKeg is a very small disk based DAP. From a review over at AV Watch it seems that the little DAP has got a nice review. The play has a 1 inch drive which is a tad slower then the 1.8 inch counterparts, but the shear small size and sleek looks will help them win you over. It weighs in at 340 dollars which isnt cheao though.

Cyberman Replica Display Helmet

For those who love Dr Who, then you need to check this out. Firebox are now offering the Cyberman Replica Display Helmet which you can buy. Cybermen are another of Dr Who’s enemies along side the Daleks too. When all 3 are in a room it is sure to be a great episode to watch on the screen. The cyberman helmets are created from the original moulds used for the latest Dr Who series and are not low in quality. They are made of 11 seperate components and the majority are cast in cold aluminium resin which makes the helmet look as it did on the screen and also cold to touch. None of these helmets are the same due to how they are produced although you would have to have a keen eye to spot the differences.

Do not try to wear this 🙂 It’s display only, so unfortunatly you cannot go scaring your friends.
Own yours now for the hefty price tag of 569.95 pounds. Order now from Firebox.

Rubens Tube

Rubens Tube works by pushing gas down one side of a cylinder and sound down another side of the same cylinder. The top of the cynder is lit with flames and then a frequency generated by the speaker causes different pressure variations down the tube causing the flames to change. It’s a great video to watch.

Storm Launcher
The Storm Launcher seems to come from the cool Hydrofoam we all saw last year. This new RC vehicle is not really a car, plane or boat. It’s really all 3 in 1. It can go on land, water or fly in the air. Just check out the video below.

The above video shows the original Hydrofoam as it was first introduced last year. Storm Launcher have added features to their model such as onboard skill level monitoring which wont let you take off till you have shown you are capable of handling this vehicle. This RC vehicle is bound to amaze your friends and even your self come to think of it.
Philips Readius
While watching the TV tonight I came across a quick review of the Philips Readius. It was good to see a video of this device actually working and I was impressed with the results. Yes, it’s only gray scale currently, but given time a nice colour solution will be out and roll up screens will be the norm soon after that. The next few years are going to be very interesting.

More Display Stuff
I just came across another video at Youtube which shows some kind of display with plates that you sit on the screen for different things such as weather reports, sports etc… Not sure if it has much use yet except for a museum peice or in a school, but it’s cool to watch and shows a little of where display technology could go adding a little more interaction to it.
