Triton 79 – Limited Edition Cooler
The Triton 79 Amazing is built by Asus and is a limited edition cooler for your CPU. Just 3200 of these will be built. The cooler is aimed at gaming enthusiasts and helps keep PC’s running at the lowest possible temperature. By lowering the operating temperature it allows for some major over clocking of the processor and in turn, that speeds up the PC making game play and graphics smoother. The Triton 79 supports Intel Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad-Core and AMD Athlon 64 processors.
The cooler is metallic looking, made from nickel plating with a copper base. 4 copper heat popes with aluminium fins help disperse the heat away from the processor and to top it off, there is a 12 cm fan to keep things cool. I have to admit that it does look like a great cooler for the gaming market and with only 3200 being made available, we can expect this one to sell quite quick among enthusiasts.

Miniature RC Zamboni

The Zamboni has had millions of people mesmerised for years as it slowly cleans the ice at a hockey match. For some reason it’s just addictive to watch it go around the ice rink and hit every square inch of ice making it smooth.
If you ever wanted to be a Zamboni driver, you now can do this courtesy of the RC Zamboni. It’s a small remote controlled device which you can drive around your desk or floor. Unfortunately it looks like it doesn’t actually smooth ice over which is a shame, but not a surprise. However, it still looks like one which will still amaze your best friends.
The RC Zamboni costs $24.99 over at jenskates.

As well as the fancy graphics and upgraded AI, the game also has the ability to download real time weather reports of all tracks around the world so you are driving in “real time” weather conditions. A video section is also included which allows you to watch video’s of cars and the making of GT5.
Vie GPS Enabled Glove

This rather strange looking device is named the Vie (pronounced Vee) and was designed by Mr. Du Tran Nguyen. Although it would look weird on anyone’s hand, it does have a few cool features built in. The screen is E-Ink and you control the device by moving your fingers up and down. Small motors built in to the glove provide feed back to let you know when you have “clicked” a button.
The Vie is used as a personal guide and trainer and allows you to plan several routes with it’s built in GPS and mapping technology. If you find danger on one route you can make a movement with your finger and find a safer alternative. If you find your self in trouble then an SOS message can be sent.
The glove monitors your body too and lets you know through vibrations if you need to ease off a little or speed up. Bluetooth allows you to connect with other glove users to share details with them.
Although a bizarre idea, it could have some potential if they could make it look a tad better.

Mechanical Calculator

If you are geeky and calculators are your thing then maybe you need to step back a bit and check out the Curta Calculator. It was built in 1948 by Curt Herzstark. It is capable of all the basic functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. If you are very clever you can also get it to work out square roots too. It uses a cylinder with numbers placed around this cylinder. Below you will find a video of the Curta Calculator being used.

Super Bowl-B-Gone

Bucky Reed probably wont be the most popular person when he unleashes his TV-B-Gone while watching super bowl at some public place. The TV-B-Gone is a device which switches off almost any TV at the push of a button. It works by using 4 infrared LED’s which transmit all the off codes for all TV’s. Anything you point it at will be switched off successfully unless the IR sensor is covered up. Bucky has custom built it and is trying to fit it in to his Nokia phone to keep most people unaware it was him who did it.

MacBook Air Sleeve

If you watched the keynote by Steve Jobs a couple of days ago, you will have seen him bring out on state a manila envelope which he pulled out the new MacBook Air. It was used to emphasise how thin the new MacBook air is. A couple of quick thinkers, Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans jumped on this idea and have created a hand made upholstery-grade vinyl case lined with fleece to protect your new super slim MacBook Air.
You can place orders now for $29.95 and they plan to ship them along side your new Mac in a few weeks when they are officially launched.
