Nokia [NOK] will be launching the Nokia N8 in August. The Nokia Conversations YouTube channel has a few videos uploaded with one of them detailing the Nokia N8 photo editing along with the video editing functions of the device.
The video shows a few examples of how to browse through photos and although not the most exciting of things to watch, it does move on to the video editing functions of the phone where transitions can be made between clips that have been combined together. The application actually looks very good and seems that with the mix of a high resolution camera and some nice transition features it could be a good selling point for the Nokia N8. [Read more…]
If you watched the D8 interview last week with Steve Jobs, you might have noticed a question about dropped calls and call availability. Steve said something along the lines of reception “should be getting a lot better soon” on the AT&T network. We first thought that this was all related to AT&T making changes to their network and upgrading it across the US, but after watching the WWDC keynote yesterday, we noticed a lot of information was given about the new antennas included on the iPhone 4. It appears that both Apple [AAPL] and AT&T are working on fixing the issues.

Sony is launching a new advert to promote their new 3D TV’s. The advert features the Brazilian footballer Kaka and the ad is designed to be watched on both 3D and 2D TV sets. When watched in 3D you get the full 3D effect whilst watching in 2D you get double images that make you want to grab a pair of 3D glasses and watch it correctly.
ITV in the UK will be broadcasting the World Cup live, starting June 11, to iPhone users. The service comes from Red Bee Media who will provide ad supported free live video streaming of the whole World Cup event this month.
The CIO of Jetstar believes that the Apple iPad could eventually replace in-flight entertainment systems. By giving passengers an iPad to use (ie, renting it out), it allows them to watch movies, browse the web (internet not confirmed) and interact more with a large screen device.

Last night, Steve Jobs was interviewed at D8 and a number of things were spoken of. Nothing said was particularly new as we expected, but the interview gave some great insight in to how and why Apple [AAPL] makes the decisions it does. The reason nothing particularly new was announced is that the WWDC event is starting this coming Monday which is where we will hear all the good stuff.
