A Pacman Shaped Phone

Pacman Phone
QuickSilver have created a new phone which looks like PacMan. From the image on the phone it makes you wonder if this phone is intended to be whipped out of your wet suit while surfing away to catch that picture of a wave as it crashes over you. Looking very closely at the specs it seems to be packed of a few nice features such as a QVGA screen, GPRS and Edge, microSD and a USB port for connectivity. The idea is just concept at the moment, so I have no release date details or prices. Another picture can be found after the jump.

Sony HDMS-S1D Digital Photo Album

sony-hdms-s1d
The HDMS-S1D comes from Sony and is a feature packed Digital Photo Album. The device can be attached to a HDTV via a HDMI cable and has an 80Gb hard drive allowing a ton of photos to be stored and kept in 1 location. Transferring files to the device is easy as it sports a number of memory card formats as well as a CD reader, DVD and USB or network connections. Once the photos are on there (50000+) high res, you can file them away by using the remote control on a simple interface. It costs $400 so would be affordable to those who want to take and store a lot of photos. Although nothing is mentioned about backups we can assume the Ethernet cable can be used to transfer files to the PC so you have photos in 2 locations.

Buffalo Wireless Mouse

BLMUW24YM_wireless_mouse
The latest wireless mouse comes from Buffalo. It has an 800dpi laser sensor and a scroll wheel. The mouse is wireless and works on the 2.4GHz band. To connect it to your PC you need to use the USB receiver which is stowed away inside the mouse when travelling. The receiver is good for 10 metres which is suitable for most applications. The device is powered by 2 AA batteries which should power the mouse for about 160 hours.

Costing $70 it seems a little on the high end for a fairly regular mouse.

Samsung SPH-P9200 UMPC

samsung_SPH-P9200-umpc
I came across this UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) over at DEGadget today and first impressions it looks like an interesting device. It is white and features a full QWERTY keyboard with a large 5 inch WVGA screen. The keyboard is the main part that got my attention as it is split in the middle allowing it to fold and then the screen also fold in making a more compact device to carry around. It runs Windows XP for an OS and has a 1GHz processor. On the memory side it has 512MB which isn’t bad at all and should be plenty to run the XP operating system. Built in is a 30GB HDD allowing for plenty of storage space while on the go.

Connectivity seems quite good too as it sports GSM/GPRS/Edge and HSDPA. Wi-Fi is built in at 802.11g. USB ports are also built in allowing connectivity with wires. Battery life is not too bad at 2.5 hours with the standard battery although it is possible to jump to 5 hours with an extended battery.

Overall it seems like quite a nice package if you are wanting a replacement for a laptop, but the benefit of a nice sized keyboard.

Ugly Hand Mouse

Hand Mouse
I came across one heck of an ugly mouse today. It’s a hand mouse which as the name suggests, it’s shaped like a hand. It appears to have two buttons (one on each fingernail maybe?) and be wired (probably USB). It looks almost authentic with the skin even sporting hairs. I have no idea if it feels like a hand to touch or if it’s hard plastic. Either way it ranks high on the freaky-o-meter. Also, check out them teeth underneath.

Gold Hard drive to Impress Business Colleagues

gold-hard-drive
My first impressions of the image above was that it was a gold shiney matress. I was wrong 🙂 You are actually looking at a 500GB external gold hard drive from LaCie. It uses USB 2.0 to connect which allows for fast file transfer. Other then that it is fairly standard but just jazzed up a little. I can imagine the looks you get as you whip out a gold hard drive from your laptop case in a business meeting. The gold hard drive will cost $189 and be available towards the end of this month.

Cool Porsche Mobile Phone

porsche-p9521-phone
The P9521 is designed by Porsche and looks great. It is the first ever designed phone by Porsche and is made from aluminium. The phone has a double hinge system which allows you to open the phone, rotate the screen and close it down in a similar way to the Clie. The glass on the screen is mineral glass and it does look amazing. Finger print scanning is built in and can replace a PIN code, or can be used to block access to certain parts of the phone. The camera is a 3.2 megapixel which is quite good and on the connectivity side there is GPRS and EDGE as well as being quad band. Bluetooth and USB are also built in.
