The Fingertip Micro cam is a small camera that is capable of capturing images at 640 x 480 pixels. The camera can capture video on to microSD cards with a capacity of up to 8GB in size. The unit is powered by a rechargeable battery that can be charged via USB cable.

OWC have created a portable SSD drive that allows you to safely transfer large files between locations without the worry that a portable harddrive being knocked about can bring.
The OWC SSD drives are part of the Mercury On-The-Go pro line series and connect up to your laptop or PC via a Firewire 400 or 800 port, or USB 2.0 and it can transfer files up to 100MBps in speed.
The Portable SSD drives come in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, so they are not as large as some hard drives are, but they have no moving parts allowing them to be put easily in a bag or pocket without the worry of damaging them. [Read more…]
Huawei make a number of 3G dongles primarily found in a USB port on the side of a laptop or netbook computer. They have now created the E5 that can be used as a portable 3G wireless router by converting your 3G mobile phone signal and routing it over wi-fi to a wireless connected laptop.
As it uses wireless to transmit the signal it can be used as a wireless hotspot for a few people when on the move. OhGizmo mention that this is the worlds first 3G dongle to achieve this although wireless tethering is possible on rooted Android phones as well as other devices. But, having a device specifically designed for this purpose could come in handy as wireless tethering on the Android is just computer to phone rather than several computers to phone which the E5 allows. Pico projectors have been springing up quite a bit this last year. Most are a tiny bit larger than a mobile phone, have a single or low double digit lumen rating and most have a 640 x 480 resolution. The Darling DP2000 is really no different in that it does all that. However, what makes this particular projector stand out is that it has a WinCE powered computer built in.

GLB have created a couple of new internet tablets named the PP-P68 and PP-P88. Each have a 10 inch screen and run Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processors. The 10 inch screens have a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and are touchscreen.
For connectivity the devices have option 3G and GPS can also be selected too. Wireless B/G is built in as well as three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA output as well as wired Ethernet. A card reader is built in and data is stored on a 2.5 inch 160GB hard drive. [Read more…]
The Sony E Series Walkman, named the NWZ-E443, is a 4GB flash based MP3 and video player. Several versions of the E series Walkman are available which include the 4GB model mentioned above, an 8GB model and a 16GB model. Size wise it measures 44 x 9.3 x 86.8 mm and it weighs just 54g. The Walkman has a 2 inch screen that can display 240 x 320 pixels and is used to display photos, track details and video.
Other features include an FM radio as well as a mic allowing voice recording. Battery power allows 30 hours of audio playback and while there are a few MP3 players that can squeeze more out of their battery, 30 hours is still a very acceptable amount. [Read more…]
Sharp had an AQUOS LED Backlit TV on display this year. Sharp’s main aim is ‘High technology, and Super GreenĀ which will be achieved through the use of LED and a mixture of solar at their production plant. Sharpe have over 40 years of experience with LED’s since 1968 and have now created a new plant in Sakai Japan where they will be able to create 13 million HDTV’s a year. As part of their green initiative they also plan to create an 18MWatt solar panel plant on the roof of the Sakai building. Sharps other goal is to make larger and thinner displays.
On to the AQUOS range of TV’s we see that they have created the LC-46LE700E that runs at 46 inches in widescreen format. This TV is backlit by LED and runs at full HD at 1080p with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. [Read more…]
As well as announcing the LG LU7000 series TV’s, LG also announced 3 other new TV’s named the SL9000, SL8000 and LH9000 LED TV’s at IFA today. Each of the 3 new TV’s offers something new and each of them look fantastic.
The first is the new BORDERLESS SL9000 Edge LED TV. The Edge LED TV has it’s backlight actually around the edges of the screen allowing it to measure just 2.9cm in thickness. The glass on the front of the screen also goes right to the edge sitting flush with the bezel making it a complete smooth panel to hang on the wall. LG have launched the new LU7000 series range of LCD TV’s. The LG LU7000 comes with a built in DVD player and is on display now over at IFA in Germany. It is being announced right now and as soon as we get some live pics we’ll post them here. For now you’ll just have to make do with the nice shiny press shots.
The TV comes in 2 sizes of 19 inches and 22 inches and has a high gloss black finish. Thanks to the built in DVD player you get the benefit of only needing the 1 power cable and not having to have a separate player installed. The LU7000 series are not aimed at being your main TV but instead, could be placed in a kitchen or bedroom for example. [Read more…]
