Dell Adamo XPS Unboxed – Arriving before Christmas

Dell-Adamo-XPS-OpenThe Dell Adamo XPS is a wafer-thin laptop that will be launched in time for Christmas. When launched the ultra thin laptop will cost $1799.

The Adamo XPS measures just 0.4 inches thin. A couple of other striking features include a latch that you swipe your finger across to open the laptop up along with a unique hinge which raises the keyboard at the back slightly when the Adamo XPS is opened up.

Spec wise it has a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CULV processor along with GS45 integrated graphics and a healthy 4GB of DDR3 memory. The screen is LED backlit and measures 13.4 inches and is capable of a HD resolution at 720p. [Read more…]

HTC DROID Eris November 6

HTC DesireVerizon have officially announced that they will be offering the HTC DROID Eris and that it will be launched tomorrow on their network. The DROID Eris is another version of the HTC Hero and has a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen along with a 5 megapixel camera, EVDO Rev.A and it uses the HTC Sense user interface.

For storage the HTC Eris has a microSD card slot with an 8GB microSD card being provided in the box. The phone unfortunately does not run the Android 2.0 operating system which of course means it will lack the fancy new Google Maps Navigation that the Motorola DROID will be getting. [Read more…]

Gigabye Booktop M1305 gets Desktop Dock

gigabyte_booktop_m1305_1Gigabyte are launching a new Booktop called the M1305 that comes with a desktop docking station to give the graphics a little extra kick.

The new Booktop has a 13.3 inch screen that can display a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels and has an Intel CULV processor inside. The dock features an NVIDIA GeForce GT220 GPU with 1GB of DDR3 memory that allows the Booktop to get a boost when docked.

Inside you’ll find 4GB of memory as well as a storage capacity of up to 500GB depending on the option you choose. An optical drive can also be found in the unit. [Read more…]

Toshiba’s Fuel Cell now Available

toshiba-fuel-cellAfter hearing about fuel cell’s being the future for the last few years we actually see that this might just be the case as Toshiba have launched their fuel cell over in Japan. Fuel cells allow instant power by topping up the battery with concentrated methanol. They are ideal for items such as laptops where you could simply top them up with fuel and work away without the need to recharge or plug in.

The new Toshiba fuel cell called the Toshiba Dynario acts as a battery charger with 50mL being capable of charging your mobile phone or other USB connected devices a couple of times before needing to be refilled. If you travel a lot then this type of charger could be handy. [Read more…]

LG GW620 Android Phone Website Launched

lg_gw620_official_8LG have launched a new website for their new LG GW620 Android based mobile phone. The mini site isn’t really complete yet as it just has the standard Latin? text running down the page. However, what it does have is a set of photos of the phone as well as a spec sheet and a couple of videos showing what the phone can do.

What we do see from the spec sheet is that it will connect on dualband UMTS at 900 and 2100MHz and quadband GSM. The specs also show that Wifi at 802.11b/g as well as Bluetooth and USB are options for connectivity. The phone measures 109 x 54.5 x 15.9 mm and weighs 139g. [Read more…]

HTC HD2 Unboxed

HTC-HD2The highly anticipated HTC HD2 has just been unboxed and uploaded to Youtube in the last day. Although the box used is just a temporary box, it’s still good to see the actual phone and what it looks like while booting up etc…

We are still waiting for a HD2 to arrive here and have been told that there are no review units around anywhere just yet… so someone must have a a secret stash of them somewhere… do tell if you are one of those who know.

Items included in the box are a charger, hands free kit along with inline controls as well as a USB cable for charging/syncing. On to the phone it’s self, the most striking feature of the HTC HD2 is the huge screen that the phone has. It measures 4.3 inches and is capacitive as well as being multi-touch. Powering the phone is a 1GHz snapdragon processor to make things run quicker than average. OS wise it runs Windows Phone (WM 6.5) that uses HTC sense style overlay to make things run a little nicer. Motorola Droid Product Pages Leaked

verizon_motorola_droid_spec_sheet_1Motorola have published the product pages for the new Motorola Droid phone due out soon. However, the page was only online for a brief amount of time. We won’t go in to why we think it was pulled so quick, but what it did reveal is the official specs for the phone.

The phone will have a 3.7 inch screen at a 16:9 aspect ratio that will display 480 x 854 pixels. Of course, it will also be touchscreen and we assume capacitive. A 5 megapixel autofocus camera will be found ont he back that will be capable of 4x digital zoom. The camera will also have a dual LED flash. Battery life see’s the Droid powered for 385 minutes of talk time along with 270 hours of standby and has a capacity of 1400mAh.

The processor running the Droid is clocked at 550MHz and connectivity is as can be expected with Wireless b/g, Bluetooth and EVDO Rev.A. [Read more…]

Apple Mac Mini Updated

Apple-Mac-MiniApple [AAPL] have also updated their Apple Mac Mini today. The new Mac Mini measures 2 inches high, 6.5 inches wide, 6.5 inches deep and weighs just 2.9 pounds.

The Mac Mini has a number of optional processors when buying it which include a 2.26GHz, 2.53GHz, 2.66Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor along with 3MB of on-chip L2 cache and a 1066MHz FSB. 2GB of RAM is standard on the MacMini although this can be upgraded to 4GB if needed. [Read more…]

TomTom Go I-90 In-Dash SatNav

tomtom-go-i90TomTom have created a new satnav system that fits in the dashboard of your car. It is called the TomTom Go I-90 and is designed to fit in a standard double DIN slot completely replacing the onboard stereo that was there before.

Included in the I-90 is an FM radio along with RDS support. AM reception is also possible and the unit has a USB connector allowing MP3 players to be connected. It isn’t known if the unit has Bluetooth although the press release does refer to compatibility with an extensive list of phones for hands free calling. Viewsonic VOT132 Nettop PC is ION-Based running Windows 7

vot132-1Viewsonic are launching an updated version of it’s nettop PC. The new version is a step up from their older version, named the VOT131. The new VOT132 will feature a dual core Intel Atom processor and rather than running Windows XP Home, this version will run Windows 7 Home Premium.

As can be expected with all announcements of Windows 7 computers and netbooks, the VOT132 will also launch this week on the 22nd October. [Read more…]

Acer Aspire AS1410 CULV Netbook Gets Priced

AS1410-keyboard-shot-512x500Acer have perhaps created a fantastic netbook here in the shape of the Acer Aspire AS1410 CULV. The AS1410 has a fair bit of power inside that includes a Celeron SU2300 1.2GHz processor that has 1MB of L2 Cache and an 800MHz front side bus. Also included in the Aspire AS1410 is 2GB of DDR2 memory that can be upgraded to 4GB.

The screen measures 11.6 inches and has a HD widescreen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The screen is lit by LED and Acer call it their CineCrystal. Due to the larger 11.6″ screen you can also expect a decent sized keyboard on this netbook. Acer say the keyboard is full size which is especially handy on small devices. [Read more…]
