Apple iPhone 4G Leaked Again

Things can’t be going too well for Apple [AAPL] at the moment after another iPhone 4G has been leaked in Vietnam. Perhaps we are looking at the same phone we have seen a couple of times before though. Right now, I’ve lost track of how many phones there have been captured on camera that all look very similar. I believe it might be the fifth as there was one captured earlier this year before the Gizmodo leak, then the Gizmodo leak, then Vietnam, then France and now Vietnam again. The last three and perhaps the first could all be the same unit though.

Either way, we now have a video of the iPhone running what appears to be some sort of diagnostic screen called Inferno. This looks to be a “bonfire” at the top of the screen with some text at the bottom of the screen showing some sort of USB status and a command saying Run Bonfire.

Some people believed the Inferno screen was just a static image, as in a sticker on the screen or a fake screen. We now see that this is part of the innards of the OS. [Read more…]

ASUS Eee 1015P and 1015PE get 13.5 Hour Battery

ASUS has announced two new netbooks called the ASUS Eee 1015P and the 1015PE. Each are fairly standard netbooks running the usual Intel Atom N450 processor. The screens on each device measure 10.1 inches and are backlit by LED. The resolution is 1024×600 pixels.

What makes the ASUS Eee 10015P/PE stand-out most though is the impressive 13.5 hour battery life that each model can achieve. Of course the tests that get 13.5 hours will be fairly easy going, but what a 13.5 hour battery life on an easy run means that with WiFi, full brightness and intensive applications you should still get a good 10 hours of usage on a single charge.

Each of the netbooks run Windows 7 Starter for the OS and both netbooks can connect up to Eee storage for an extra 500GB to store files on-line. [Read more…]

Dell IPS-Based Displays Launched

Dell has launched a couple of new displays that use IPS (in-plane switching) panels. The two new displays called the U2211H and the U2111H measure 21.5 inches and 23 inches respectively.

Each display is capable of full HD at 1080p and due to the IPS technology used, the image quality is higher than that used in regular LCD screens.

Official details of how they perform has not been revealed just yet, but due to IPS each should have a wider viewing angle and sharper image quality.

Each has a DisplayPort and DVI input and the screens can produce a 1000:1 static contrast ration. As well as being a monitor, a handy USB hub with 4 ports is built in to the screens. [Read more…]
