Sony Ericsson W810

The new Sony Ericsson W810 is another mobile in the Walkman range of phones which I think are very good. It is the son of the W800 which was another excellent phone. The W810 improves on some of the bad parts of the W800 which were not that many. It has a new joystick and the mobile internet is changed. The colour of the phone is changed from White to Black. It is the familier Orange colour which we are used to seeing in this range of W phones.

A 512Mb memory card is included which is changeable for an even larger one. A downside is the slow USB connection to a PC. The cable is included but it doesnt perform how we would all expect. However, who really cares about the USB connection speed 🙂 I have never used it yet. Always use Bluetooth or a card reader.

Sony NW-A1200 8GB

Sony have increased the capacity of their MP3 player to 8GB. The NW-A1200 takes just 2 hours to charge and runs for a nice 20 hours. It has the usual sleek looks with the hidden screen which shines through and looks as though it’s floating on the surface of the player “tech name of electroluminescent display”. 🙂

Sony Blu-Ray VAIO Laptop AR Model

Sony have launched a new laptop which includes a Blu-Ray drive. The small Sony monsters screen is 17″ and capable of 1,920 x 1,200 WUXGA+ on an XBrite Display. It includes 200Gb storage space, 2.0Ghz Duo Core processor and weighs just 8.4 pounds. The Blue-Ray drive is writeable at 1x speed which isnt exactly great, but this is the first in it’s class… so you cant really complain at that one! Unfortunatly the battery life is a mere 2 hours which isnt good at all. However, this laptop is a good step forwards and will open doors to others following.

Sony Vaio TX3

Sony have released information on their new ultra portable Vaio range of laptops know as the TX3 series.

sony1_4.jpg
They will be priced around the $2000 price range, sport many goodies packed in like BlueTooth, Wifi, TV Tuner and more and all that packs in to just a 1 inch think case. Not bad!! Sony have always impressed me with how small they can make things.

The Laptop comes with an 11.1″ wide screen display which I assume will be the nice x-black type.

One other great piece of news is that the battery now lasts around 7.5 hours which in the past has been a downfall of Sony. 10 hours is excellent though and will cover some serious travel between charges.

Sony Ericsson P990i

P990i.jpgSony Ericsson are to soon release their next P series mobile phone the P990i. The new phone will be compatible with 3G networks which is a good move forwards for Sony Ericsson. 3G coverage in the UK is getting larger and with adding high speed to the already amazing P series phones was the right way to go.

Some of the excellent advances are that it now supports wireless 802.11b, has a built in FM radio, compatible with the following networks… UMTS (3G) + GSM 900/1800/1900 and has the usual BlueTooth, 2M camera. Also new additions are the options of editing Word Documents on the go as well as Excell spreadsheets. The P990i also supports the main email protocols. The P series Sony Ericsson is truly becoming a mobile device for business users and allows for work on the go.
