aaxa-p2-projectorAAXA have created their second generation Pico projector. It is named the P2 and has upped the resolution to SVGA which is 800 x 600 pixels. A 33 lumen LED light source throws an image up to 80″ in size. Currently, this is the highest spec Pico projector on the market (well, almost as it’s still only available by pre-order).

The projector measures 4.3″x2.1″x1″, and weights 260 grams. The unit has a VGA input which accepts a resolution of 1280 x 720 and batter life for the unit is just 35 minutes which you have to admit, it’s the greatest. However, optional batteries are available that will see the projector run for either 70 or 180 additional minutes. [Read more…]

iPhone Stylus and Touchscreen Cleaning Kit

iphone-stylus-screen-cleaner-1All touchscreen phones have the problem that they somehow magically suck grease and finger prints from the air, even when you don’t touch the screen. If your phone suffers that problem, which I am sure it does, then check out this iPhone Stylus and Touchscreen cleaning kit.

iphone-stylus-screen-cleanerThe cleaning kit has a small reservoir of cleaning stuff stored inside that makes it’s way down to a sponge that is found of the end of it. Pop off the cap and you have the perfect screen cleaning tool that can clean your PSP, iPod, iPhone and any other smartphone or anything with a screen full-stop. Once you clean the screen with the sponge you use the carrying case to clean off the surface and buff it clean. The case is a micro-fibre case that makes it a good material for cleaning.

Now that you have a completely clean iPod screen you can now use the integrated stylus to tap away on the screen rather then using your fingers.

Overall… A very handy accessory available from Firebox costing £7.95 currently.

Is Apple building a handheld Game System?

apple-games-console
I wasn’t expecting to hear of a patent by Apple with them jumping in to the hand-held gaming arena. The recent application speaks of toys, games and playthings and refers to hand-held units for playing electronic games. This patent interestingly enough follows on from a multi-touch gaming interface also which got many people’s attention.

Apple are doing well with their product launches and maybe this multi touch gaming device could become a PSP beater. No doubt this will spark rumours all over the web followed with artists impressions of what this “iGame” device could look like.

Nintendo DS 2

nintendo-ds-2Back in December, Gizmodo created a wishlist about the next Gen Nintendo DS. Phil Nolan, a 3D artist, liked what he saw there and got to work creating a 3D rendering of what a Nintendo DS 2 could look like. Taking ideas from the iPhone, PSP and Wii the DS 2 pictured above was created. As can be seen, the faces of the device are shiny and the screens are larger then the regular DS. If Nintendo took some advice from Phil they would have a killer looking machine.

Power Brick Charger

Power Brick Charger
The Power Brick is a new battery device which is high capacity. It has a 2400Mah capacity allowing it to charge a regular mobile phone or iPod about three times before it needs recharging it’s self. It weighs less then 100g and can be charged by USB. Outputs on this device are a plenty too. It comes with “tips” for Nokia (x2), Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola/Blackberry/mini USB, iPod, PSP and digital cameras. Also in the pack is a retractable USB cable which connects the tips to the battery. Full charge can be held for 3 months and the on/off switch is located on the side. So you do not loose all the bits and bobs included, the package comes with a small white case too.

For those who are out and about a lot, this small package could be a nice source of power should you need to make a call and your phone is dead.

It costs just £14.99 also which is not bad considering it contains all the above tips for a ton of devices.

Kawasaki ZX10R with 12 Speakers

ZX10R_12Speakers

12 Speakers on a Kawasaki ZX10R

A modified Kawasaki ZX10R has been built which has 12 speakers around its body which have an output of 1500 watts. To make use of all this power needed to be heard, you have two iPods, a Sony PSP, flat screen with DVD and remote control as well as an input for electric guitar. This is a crazy bike and gives out a lot of noise. I am just not quite sure yet who gets to watch the movies on the DVD player and flat screen when the biker is riding around 🙂 At least he will be heard a few more miles off.

iPhone Hacks – What do you want to see

iPhone

iPhone is coming today! What iPhone Hacks do you want to see?

After several months of waiting, the iPhone will be launching at 6pm tonight in the US. Wired put out the question today about iPhone hacks and what people want to see should they want more from their expensive iPhone. Suggestions such as Skype, MP3 ring tones, Instant Messaging, iPod and Internet without a phone plan and quite a few more have been mentioned. No doubt we will see an ongoing battle between the hackers and Apple like we do with the PSP and homebrew. Hopefully some decent apps can come out for the iPhone to make it in to an even more useful device. The collection of all programmers and Apple could make the good even better.

Having power to your mobile gadget is essential for the traveller. I have personally run in to times where my phone or PDA ran out of juice when I needed it most. The power output of the powermonkey is what caught my attention as it is capable of keeping an iPod running for 40 hours. A mobile phone can be kept powered for 96 hours with a PSP powered for 5 hours.
