HTC DROID Incredible Teardown by TechRestore

TechRestore are getting a good name in the world of teardowns due to their different approach at presenting the details.

Rather than taking pictures along the way and posting each picture, TechRestore create short stop-motion animations around 3 minutes in length showing a device being taken apart and being quickly put back together. Previous gadgets towndown this way include the Apple iPad and PSP Go.

This time, TechRestore have taken apart a HTC DROID Incredible that launched just a few days ago. There isn’t really anything special to be found inside other than the usual camera, chips, CPU’s and a screen, but for some reason watching it in stop-motion makes it a little more entertaining. Nintendo 3DS Details revealed – Unofficially

Earlier today we reported that the Nintendo 3DS has been announced and that it was expected to arrive sometime before the March 2011 fiscal year end.

Other than knowing that it will be 3D in a glasses-free form and that it is compatible with older DS and DSi games, nothing else was really revealed about the new Nintendo 3DS.

Information about how it achieves the 3D effect without glasses has arrived (not officially though) which says it will use a parallax barrier LCD screen built by Sharp. Although the technology is unsuitable for large screen devices (referring to TV’s), it has been seen to work on a few mobile phones and could work well on the new Nintendo 3DS. [Read more…]

To paraphrase, “the game is being finished up and it plays rather nicely.”

As of now it is not known if the game was started from scratch, or if it’s just an update to a PSP version that was launched a while back but either way it should run fantastic when launched on the iPhone 3G and 3G S. [Read more…]

Sources compatible include DVD players, camcorders, VHS player as well as video games systems. When playing content with the cable attached, the computer captures the video digitally and stores it on the hard drive allowing you to upload, email or keep an archive of your old content.

Reasons for using such a device could be to just clear out space used by old VHS cassettes that you might not want to keep anymore, but still want the content on them. [Read more…]

New Nintendo DS to Feature Motion Control

It seems like Nintendo are creating a new Nintendo DS handheld gaming system that will have upgraded graphics as well as motion sensing technology.

Improving graphics is generally a step forwards for console makers, so adding better graphics to the DS 2 does make sense. I’m yet to be convinced of motion control on a handheld though although Nintendo have done well with the Wii and DS, so seem to know what they are doing in general. [Read more…]
