A detailed picture of the Sony PSP USB camera has been revealed. It’s Silver, sits on top of the device and according to a source, it has a built in MIC. The camera seems like it will be 1.3 megapixel.

Rechargeable LED Reading Glasses

If you are still using an older Amazon Kindle (the one without the front-lit screen), or just a regular book then perhaps you need to get some of these rechargeable LED reading glasses.

The glasses contain a couple of bright LEDs that light up the pages of your book for up to 2.5 hours between charges, and as the name suggests, they are rechargeable as well.

PS Vita Plays Sega Megadrive/Genesis Games

The Sony PlayStation Vita launched less than a month ago and already, someone has managed to get a Sega Megadrive/Genesis game running on it. Rather than the game being run on an emulator direct, the actual game is running on an emulator within an emulator… meaning that the game is running on the Genesis emulator which runs within the Vita PSP emulator.

Sony PlayStation Vita Available for Pre-Order in the UK

Amazon in the UK has begun listing the Sony PlayStation Vita and has made it available for pre-order. Two versions of the Vita have been made available which includes the WiFi version and the 3G version with the former being priced at £229.99 and the latter at £279.99.

Sony NGP RAM Could Drop to 256MB

When Sony announced the NGP in January this year we also heard that it would have 512MB RAM. To cut down on manufacturing costs, it seems that this will now be reduced to 256MB.

Sony NGP Features Dropped To Keep the Price Right

Although we think the Sony NGP (AKA PSP 2) is packed full of features that actually make it very “cool”, we learn now that it could have been better. Sony said in a recent interview that not everything they intended has made it to the PSP 2 so that they could keep the price down to an acceptable level. What that means is that you still will get the NGP you saw a few weeks ago, but had Sony not restricted it to a certain (unknown) price point, it would have been packed with even more features.

Sony doesn’t mention what those features are though unfortunately although a few lessons can be learned from the original PS3 when compared to the new one. Sony originally added a lot of features to the PS3 and gave it everything, basically you could say they “overcooked” it. Then, they realised that a huge loss was being made and when new models were launched, various features started dropping such as backwards compatibility to name one thing. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Launch Coming February 13

After many months of leaks and several hands on times with the Playstation Phone, Sony Ericsson has now made it official by announcing a launch event on February 13 which is this coming Sunday.

Engadget first leaked details of the Playstation phone back in August 2010 at which point Sony Ericsson said that this wasn’t happening.

Hardware then started showing up and finally, some real clear pictures and video of the device being used. Finally, Sony Ericsson has now announced the new release. [Read more…]

Nintendo 3DS Battery Life is Just 3 to 8 Hours

One thing that gave the original Nintendo DS a boost was the fact that it could get up to 14 hours on a single charge. When the DS Lite launched, that further jumped to a healthy 19 hours of gaming between charges. What we are hearing now is that the new Nintendo 3DS will get just 3 to 8 hours per charge with the 8 hours been reserved for those older DS games.

For those playing newer 3D games, this is when battery life drops to just 3 to 5 hours per charge. This is now around what the original Sony PSP got per charge which isn’t particularly good at all. [Read more…]

Official PlayStation App for iPhone and Android Coming Soon

Sony has announced a new official app for iPhone and Android based smartphones. The app is the official PlayStation App and has been designed to bring a number of PlayStation Network features to the smartphone.

When the app launches, you’ll be able to download it for free and once installed, check your PlayStation Network trophies as well as being able to keep up with friends games and online achievements. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson PlayStation Phone Could Launch December 9

A mysterious press event is being held in France on December 9. The captured ad for the event shows several familiar logos which includes a phone symbol, X, Circle, Triangle and Square of course with the latter four of the five being Playstation controls. Mix that with the phone just before it… is the Playstation Phone about to be announced?

The image (in French) says that this event is to be the most anticipated in the last 10 years. The event will be hosted by Pierre Perron who is the DG of Sony Ericsson in France. [Read more…]
