Several HP netbooks have gone on sale over at Amazon today that see the various models dropping in price in some cases by over $100.
Included in the sale are eight variants of the HP Mini 210 series with a ninth being on sale which is the HP Mini 311. Although 8 different model variations are included in the sale, there isn’t much between them other than a bit more storage space and some have 802.11b/g while others also include wireless n. ASUS are continuing to expand their Eee range of netbooks by launching the ASUS Eee 1005PR netbook. The 
Averatec have unveiled the Averatec N1200 netbook that claims to be the thinnest and lightest on the market.
ASUS are launching a new Eee PC called the ASUS Eee 1001PQ that is aimed at children. The new netbook is an update from the MK90H that was “Disney-inspired” and is now upgraded to run an Intel Atom N450 CPU.

Samsung have unveiled their Samsung N150 LTE netbook that has a 10.1 inch WSVGA screen and an Intel Atom N450 Pine Trail processor. The new netbook’s screen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and is backlit by LED. The netbook has the option of a touchscreen if desired.
Samsung have confirmed that they are currently working on a Chrome OS based netbook that could launch late this year. The Samsung Chrome OS Netbook won’t be added to their current lineup until late this year which could mean a launch later on this year, but also possibly in to 2011.

This week the Symbian Foundation announced that the sourcecode for Symbian devices was now completely open source. To achieve this about 20% of the 200 or so 3rd party developers had requested their code be stripped out due to now wanting to open-source their code.
