CZC C9 Netbook – New Worlds Thinnest

CZC-C9-NetbookThe CZC C9 netbook is built by Zichuang Technology who claim it to be the worlds thinnest netbook. The netbook measures just 5 millimeters in thickness (0.2 inches) and weighs just 750 grams.

The CZC C9 has an ARM11 based processor and has an 8.9″ screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Also included in the netbook is 1GB or RAM, 8GB of storage (flash based), 2 USB ports and a VGA port. [Read more…]

GLB PP-P68 / P88 TouchScreen Net Tablets

glb_pp-p88_1GLB have created a couple of new internet tablets named the PP-P68 and PP-P88. Each have a 10 inch screen and run Intel Atom 1.6GHz N270 processors. The 10 inch screens have a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and are touchscreen.

For connectivity the devices have option 3G and GPS can also be selected too. Wireless B/G is built in as well as three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA output as well as wired Ethernet. A card reader is built in and data is stored on a 2.5 inch 160GB hard drive. [Read more…]

Sony VAIO X Series 11 Inch Netbook

sony-vaio-x-seriesOver at IFA in Berlin, Sony have announced the new VAIO X series netbook. The Sony Vaio X has an 11 inch screen and is very thin. The casing is made from carbon fibre that houses an aluminium keyboard. As the Vaio X uses lightweight materials it also is very light at just 700 grams.

Right now the display model uses an Intel Atom processor and the machine runs Windows 7 with 2GB of ram and a 31Wh battery. However, Sony have also said that the Atom processor is just one of the options and could be changed in the near future when production models are made (or when more options are made available). The details are being kept very secret at the moment. Interestingly enough, the netbook should launch at the end of the month and cost a usual Sony premium price tag of $2000. [Read more…]

Asus Netbook Roadmap Leaked

asus-eee-pcA roadmap of upcoming Asus Eee netbook products has been leaked. It shows an impressive line of netbooks that will be appearing which includes a new 12″ netbook that uses the NVIDIA Ion graphics chip along with a tablet PC that will feature a multi-touch display.

Prices for these new netbooks and tablets are in the $300 – $500 price range too making them very affordable. [Read more…]

Asus 1101HA 11.6″ Netbook

Asus-Eee-1101HAAsus have launched their new netbook. Asus 1101HA is the name of it and is the first seashell netbook to have over an 11″ display. The 11.6″ screen has a WXGA resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels making it HD.

iPhone Charging with a Netbook Battery

netbook-iphone-chargerA guy over at prusadjs has hacked up his old MSI Wind 3 cell battery, attached a USB connector and now it is capable of charging an iPhone.

The iPhone takes about 2.5 hours to fully charge and the netbook battery is left with about 50% of it’s charge left meaning a second full charge of the iPhone should be possible. [Read more…]

Acer Delays the Android Netbook

android-acerA few months ago Acer announced that they were introducing a new netbook that would dual boot in to either Windows XP or Android. If launched it would have been the first Android powered netbook to be launched. Unfortunately Acer have delayed this a few months due to not being able to find a market for a netbook of this specification.

The worry about finding the right market is that they don’t want an almost brand-new operating system landing in the hands of those who do not know how to use it. It was to be aimed at the less tech savvy but out of those, many wouldn’t really see a need or understand why the netbook dual boots. [Read more…]
