iSketch is a new iPhone app that was developed by an 11 year old called Cameron. The iSketch application was written so that a portion of it’s earnings could be sent to the Mattel Childrens Hospital UCLA in Westwood and Santa Monica.
There are a few things interesting here though, the first is that an 11 year old managed to create what looks to be a great little app, and secondly that it was approved. Both are challenges in themselves. [Read more…]
AirStash is a wireless device that allows you to keep a wireless flash drive in your pocket for expanding the memory of gadgets such as iPhones and iPod Touch’s. The device looks similar to a large flash drive and has a USB connector on one side as well as an SD card slot on the other.
Pedal Brain is a new app launching soon for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to track cycling in a similar way to how Nike+ functions. The application is described as being far more powerful than the Nike+ running version though.
Belkin have created a new Bluetooth music receive for iPhones that allows you to listen to music from your hifi. The device comes with the bluetooth receiver along with a cable that can attach to your hifi. When you pair your iPhone up to the receiver you can then listen to music from the stereo as well as use your iphone as a remote control to skip though music.
Cisco have launched a new application for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. The application deals with security threats and provides information to keep your network secure. It is designed for network admins and managers and provides details of potential attacks that could happen on the network they manage.
The iPhone has had a few projectors launched for it of which they look quite good. The latest that I came across just today is the HypnosEye that although does it’s job of projecting an image, doesn’t look that good. Looks aside though, the HypnosEye is a simple projector that uses a lens and mirror to project images seen on the screen of your iPhone.
Orange have launched a new iPhone app for Orange Wednesdays in the UK. Orange Wednesdays have been running since 2003 and allow those on the Orange network to text a number and get a free 2 for 1 voucher for use in cinemas across the UK every Wednesday of the year.
Toyota have released a new iPhone app that attempts to educate as well as advertise the features of the Prius car… in particular it’s Draw feature is the funkiest as it allows you and your iPhone to interact with a large screen over in Times Square New York. When you have downloaded the application you load it up and draw on the screen. Your drawings are then thrown up on to the huge screen and mixed with the Prius. Although I say it’s the funkiest part of the app, admittedly it’s not that amazing, but still kind of cool in a weird way.
Along with a big update to a number of Apple products yesterday, Apple [AAPL] have also launched the new Magic Mouse. The mouse is the worlds first multi touch mouse allowing you to use anywhere on it’s surface to click on.
In the last few days we have seen a number of places mention that Apple have shipped a new iPhone 3G S that has the boot ROM finally fixed to block the 24kpwn exploit. Many people knew it wouldn’t be long before this was also hacked, and funnily enough, it has.
