Pulse Phone iPhone App Measures Heart Rate with Camera

The Pulse iPhone app was originally submitted to Apple [AAPL] about a year ago although at the time, it was rejected due to using a unique way of accessing the camera on the iPhone 4.

iPhone 3G and 2G Get Dual-Boot Config

RedmondPie has created a step by step “how to” guide on installing Android 2.2.1 on to the iPhone 3G and 2G. The guide allows for both iOS and Android 2.2.1 to run side by side on the device allowing you to easily swap and change between either OS when needed.

Path for iPhone Launches

Path is an app for the iPhone that has just launched. What the new application does is lets you share your life with close friends and family. To do this you use the camera on your iPhone to capture events as they happen. You can then have up to 50 friends added to the application who will get to see your pictures taken.

You have the ability to tag images and moments as you encounter them. The app lets you know when your friends have seen the pictures. As well as being able to share and be notified of who has viewed what on your account, Path also has a map section that allows you to explore places where friends have visited that they have shared with you. Free iPhone Apps Fill One Third of Top-Grossing Apps Charts

About a year ago, Apple [AAPL] started up the in-app purchase features. What this does is allows developers to create apps for iOS based devices and then let you purchase add-ons whilst in the app. An example could be extra levels of a game or more transactions in a financial package to name a few ideas.

GigaOM decided to have a look at the top 100 grossing apps today to see what was there and after checking through the list, they found that 34 apps out of the 100 were listed as being free and managed to be added to the top 100 grossing apps due to the in-app purchases that they allowed. Some new touch screen technology is being created that would allow devices such as the Apple iPhone to work when the user is wearing gloves or using a pen.

iOS 4.2 To Increase Performance on iPhone 3G

When iOS 4.2 gets released, it will increase the performance of the iPhone 3G. Ever since the launch of iOS 4.0 a few months back, iPhone 3G users have been left with a device that struggles to run as it did with 3.1.X. When iOS 4.1 was released, it some what fixed those problems although there are still a few speed issues here and there.

Apple Dead Pixel Policy for iPhone, iPad and Other Screens Leaked

Leaked information has revealed the Apple dead pixel policy for those with any Apple device with a screen.

Items covered in the dead pixel policy are classified by screen size with 1 to 3.5 inches being the lower size all the way up to 30 inch screens.

Some interesting things to point out from the leaked dead pixel policy is that the iPhone, iPod touch and any other device with a 1 to 3.5 inch screen has a zero tolerance policy meaning that 1 dead pixel (bright or dark) is enough to have a repair or replacement done. [Read more…]

Angry Birds for iPhone Hits 10 Million Paid Downloads

Angry Birds has turned out to be a great product for its creators. For Android devices over 2 million copies were downloaded. We now hear that the iPhone version has seen 10 million downloads. What makes this more impressive is that the 10 million downloads doesn’t include the free versions.

Pocket Gamer reports that the total downloads across all platforms has reached the 30 million milestone. [Read more…]

Table Connect for iPhone Demonstrated on Video

The video demonstration below shows the Tablet Connect for iPhone. The table computer is a 58 inch capacitive touchscreen laying flat. It has a dock connector built in and supposedly allows users to open up an app on the iPhone and have the iPhone pushed over to the table computer.

The demonstration shows the app loading up on the phone, and then the screen being transferred to the table where the photos app is loaded up. [Read more…]

Target has announced that it will be selling both the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 as of November 7th.

Target will be selling the iPhone in 846 stores around the US although its best to check with your local store as not all of them will be selling the smartphone. [Read more…]
