Windows Mobile 6.5 Marketplace Arrives Early

With that in mind, Microsoft now actually have the latest Marketplace ready and waiting to go which allows you to download applications just as you do on Android, iPhone, Nokia and WebOS smartphones. Apple Buys their Own Maps Company

iphone-mapsApple has bought a mapping service company named Placebase. This might not seem too interesting, but the thing is that Google currently provides mapping services for Apple and now that Apple own Placebase, it could mean bye bye to Google Maps on the iPhone.

There could be a few reasons for Apple making this move and more than likely it is to be less dependant on Google then they have been in the past. PlaceBase allows a lot of customisation and a lot of ways to layer multiple kinds of data sets on to maps. The first rumour says that 3 separate prototypes have been created of the “iPad”. The first version had a 7″ screen which was said to be too small. The latest prototype has a 10.7″ screen. Qualcomm Flo TV

Garmin Asus Nuvifone’s Going to AT&T

M20-G60Garmin-Asus have confirmed that the M20 and G60 are finally being launched in the US and will be sold on the AT&T network sometime soon. So far the phones have only recently been made available, after several months of delays, over in Taiwan, Hong Kong and countries from that side of the globe.

No information has been given yet on a European launch but I expect it will be sometime this year. [Read more…]

Garmin-Asus nuvifone M20 with Windows Mobile Launching

nuviphone-m20After many months of delays the Garmin-Asus nuvifone M20 is finally launching over in Taiwan. The Garmin-Asus partnership were launching 2 nuvifones with the other one being the G60 which ran a proprietary OS. The G60 was launched last month and now it’s time for the N20 which runs on Windows Mobile and is aimed more at the business user.

The nuvifone M20 features HSDPA, a VGA display, 3 megapixel camera and as can be expected, extensive navigation features thanks to the Garmin part of the partnership. [Read more…]

Sony PSP Go Downloads to start at €1

Anyway, to cheer things up a little it appears that Sony will be pricing games on the PSN (PlayStation Network) starting at just ‚¬1 with a jump to ‚¬2 and finally ‚¬5 each.
