Samsung Galaxy Tab on Verizon Lacks Skype 3G Calling

When the Samsung Galaxy Tab launches on Verizon [VZ] in the next few weeks, the ability to make Skype calls over 3G will not be available.

Skype will still be available for the Verizon Galaxy Tab, but voice calls will be restricted to WiFi only. What makes this interesting is that a special version of Skype is installed on other Android handsets on Verizon and each of those do have the ability to make calls over 3G, so it isn’t clear why this is being blocked for the Tab. Redsn0w iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Now Available

The Redsn0w jailbreak for iOS 4.1 has been released. This particular iOS 4.1 jailbreak is compatible with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, Apple TV (second gen), iPad and iPod touch.

It looks like geohot’s recent limera1n exploit for iPhone3GS/iPhone4/iPad/ipt3g/ipt4g/atv2g will be very beneficial to jailbreakers and unlockers for the next few months (at least). geohot’s limera1n program and the alternative greenpois1on program both use his same exploit (although greenpois0n refuses to tell you that, FWIW), and hopefully SHAtter can be saved for some later device.
