Google [GOOG] has enhanced Google Docs to be even more compatible with the iPad. Just a couple of weeks ago, Google made it possible to edit more with the iPad in the browser, but users were still restricted mostly to the mobile version of Google Docs.

iPad 2 Front and Rear Cameras Hinted at Again

The iPad 2 rumors keep flowing in before its estimated release date. This time we hear more about the iPad 2 camera, or cameras as we learn. Certain sources are claiming that dual cameras will be included in the iPad 2 and that production will go ahead as expected in the first quarter of 2011.

iPad 2 Display Wont Be OLED

We just mentioned some details about the iPad 2 getting cameras. We now hear that the 9.7 inch screen will not be OLED as rumored before. Of course, this is just another rumor to tackle the previous rumor which said it would. The reason that the iPad 2 display wont be OLED is apparently because of Samsung Mobile Display not being able to manufacture enough of them in time for the iPad 2 release date.

Samsung Mobile Display have about 98% market share of OLED panels and as Apple needs millions of them making any time now, this just isn’t going to happen. [Read more…]

Best iPad and iPhone Apps for 2010 Announced

Apple [AAPL] has announced the best iPad and iPhone apps of 2010. The list starts by recognizing four of the best apps of the year which includes Hipstamatic, Plants Vs. Zombies, Flipboard and Osmos. After that it moves on to a list of more apps that meet certain criteria such as the Overall Top 10 PAID iPhone Apps, Top Free iPhone Apps and Top Grossing iPhone apps. The same lists are created for iPad apps in the same format.

Apple has had a number of amazing games and other apps available over this past year such as Angry Birds that made it to number 1 on the PAID iPhone Apps list and number 2 on the other iPhone lists. [Read more…]

Apple iPad Discounts on Refurbished Models

Apple [AAPL] has announced a limited time offer on the refurbished Apple iPad Wi-Fi only models. The company is adding a further $20 discount to the regular refurbished price on the 16GB model and a further $50 off the price of the 32 and 64GB models.

The offers are for a limited amount of time although that limited length of time is not specified. The refurbished models are given new batteries, new external shells and have a one year warranty which makes them practically brand new when you think about it (hopefully the screen is not beaten to death). Infinity Blade for iPad and iPhone Released

Infinity Blade for the iPhone and iPad has now been launched. The game is created by Epic Games and uses the new 3D engine to power the stunning graphics.

iPad 2 to Begin Shipping Late February

DigiTimes is reporting today that Apple [AAPL] has notified Foxconn that the iPad 2 must begin shipping as early as the end of February 2011.

As the source is DigiTimes, it doesn’t 100% guarantee this is true although shipping at the end of February would tie in with an iPad 2 release date of perhaps, sometime early April which is 1 year after the launch of the original iPad. [Read more…]

Guardian Confirm iPad Subscriptions

Apple [AAPL] is believed to be revealing a subscription system that can automatically bill users. The system would allow you to download a magazine for example and then choose to subscribe at a frequency of monthly, yearly etc… Currently the only way you can get magazines is by downloading a free app and then manually making a purchase in the “in-app” payments system which for various reasons, magazines and papers don’t like. The BBC will be launching a subscription based iPlayer service for those out of the UK. The service will initially be made available to those using the Apple iPad and will then expand out after that.

Virgin launched a new iPad magazine last night. Called “Project” the magazine became available late last night. The app its self is free although there is a cost of $2.99/month to download the content.

iPad 2 Camera Supplier Same as iPhone 4 Camera Provider

Rumors about the iPad 2 continue to circulate as we get closer to Apple [AAPL] announcing the product. The next rumor indicates that Apple could have selected the same supplier that creates the iPhone 4 cameras to also create cameras for the Apple iPad 2.

Largan Precision has declined to comment on market rumors indicating the company will be the sole lens module supplier for Apple‘s upcoming iPad 2 tablet with shipments to kick off in the first quarter of 2011, according to a company filing with the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE).
