The HTC Touch Diamond2 is a Windows based phone that runs the Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system (can be upgraded to the new Windows Phone – WM 6.5 OS). It was launched earlier this year although we still thought we would take a look considering it can run the latest Windows Phone operating system.

The new Diamond2 is a little larger than the original HTC Touch Diamond smartphone although we are only talking a few mm on each of the dimensions that make it 108 x 53 x 13.7mm in size. The phone it’s self looks sleek with the smooth front face surrounded by a by a thin bezel around the edges. On the front of the device you’ll find 4 buttons below the screen allowing you to send/end calls along with a dedicated Windows key and a back key. After a lot of speculation, HTC have now confirmed that the HTC HD2 is now official and that it will be coming to UK networks this month. The HD2 will run Windows Mobile 6.5 and have a massive 4.3 inch touchscreen display that will support multitouch and have a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

The HD2 will also use the HTC Sense user interface on top of Windows Mobile 6.5. Pocket-Lint say not to get too excited about that though as it seems very similar to TouchFLO that other HTC devices have running Windows. [Read more…]

A thread over at XDA Forums has revealed more information about the HTC HD2 / Leo smartphone including some technical specs, more pictures and general details about the hardware such as the screen type. Some of it we already know from previous leaks but a lot of the information is new. We already have heard it is going on to the O2 and T-Mobile networks in the UK. We have previously heard it will launch October 12 although some sources say 19th although that could depend on the network. Previously we heard that it will have a capacitive touchscreen. Lets see what else it will have…

At this point it is important to mention that this information has come from a user over on the XDA forums, so some might be speculative although they seem in line with what we would expect of a phone of this size. [Read more…]

Yesterday we reported that the HTC HD2 (formerly known as the HTC Leo) is to ship from O2 thanks to a photo captured of an O2 magazine which gives a page overview of the phone. We now hear from another source that T-Mobile will also be selling the HTC HD2 when it launches.

The information came earlier today from what seems to be someone working at T-Mobile who mentioned that the phone was starting to show up on their systems. Two reports came in and now confirmation has also come through to support this. [Read more…]

Verizon have just announced that the HTC Imagio will be launching at the same time as Windows Mobile 6.5.

The HTC Imagio has a 3.6 inch screen that is capable of a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Inside it has a 528MHz processor, WiFi at 802.11b/g speeds as well as Quadband GSM at 850/900/1800/1900 + 2100 HSPA along with 3G compatibility also.

The camera has a 5 megapixel sensor and also has autofocus. The phone will use TouchFLO 3D installed on top of Windows Phone. [Read more…]

The HTC HD2, formally known as the HTC Leo, is getting ready for it’s UK launch. The HD2 is known for having a large screen measuring 4.3 inches and it will run the Windows Phone operating system (Windows Mobile 6.5).

The printed promotional article showing the HTC HD2 was spotted in an O2 magazine and the timing of the printed article does seem to indicate that we could be looking at an October 12 launch which we mentioned before.

The new phone will feature TouchFLO 3D version 2.5 and will come preinstalled with Twitter support, Facebook support as well as other software to work around the who social networking scene. Multitouch is also said to be a feature on this phone and the usual pinch style zooming functions will be available on the phone.

The HTC HD2 has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside along with 320MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM and a microSD slot to further increase storage capacity. [Read more…]

The HTC Leo has finally been pictured in decent quality. When it was first spotted it looked a tad fake. Well, as can be seen it is definitely real and has an impressive 4.3″ capacitive touchscreen. For reference, the phone next to it has a 3.6″ screen.

The HTC Leo will run Windows Mobile 6.5 when launched (known now as Windows Phone) and will have a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, a 1GHz Qualcomm 8250B processor and will measure just 11mm in thickness. [Read more…]

HTC are creating the Touch HD 2 and in a surprising move, they are going to be launching it running the Android OS rather than Windows Mobile 6.5.

The original Touch HD was first released running Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and it was expected that the second version of the phone would follow. Although a surprising move it’s not overly surprising as HTC have been using Android on a number of phones over the last year or so. HTC have introduced their latest smartphone which is heading to the European market. It is the P3470 and measures 108 x 58.3 x 15.7mm. The screen is 2.8 inches and touch screen and the device, as to be expected, runs the Windows Mobile OS.

On the downside there is no 3G or wireless networking which is a shame. Both of those really do need to be standard for this type of device. If you can get over that then HTC have created a great looking device with a nice amount of features.
