HTC HD7 Full Specs Revealed

Drawings and pictures as well as a bit of rumour has been revealed about the HTC HD7. The only thing we don’t know at the moment is what it will be actually called. The image above shows it as the HD3, but most documents seen recently online show it as the HD7 which seems like its in answer to the Windows Phone 7 OS that it will run.

What we have now is the technical specs that reveal the handset is slightly larger than the HTC HD2. Size wise it measures 122 x 68 x 11.2 mm. For connectivity it works on the T-Mobile USA 3G frequency of 1700 MHz (might be just this model only) with other markets supporting other networks.

The HD7 is expected to be a flashship smartphone in terms of technical specs. [Read more…]

T-Mobile G2 Specs Officially Announced on HTC Site

HTC has added the T-Mobile G2 to it’s website. Along with the device being listed, we also get another look at all the technical specs of the phone which include the processor, RAM, ROM, Network compatibility, battery capacity and a bunch of other things.

A lot of these details have already been confirmed previously, but now the details have been added to the HTC site, it kind of sets them in stone as it were.

First off, the processor is an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM 7230. It is clocker slower than the 1GHz Snapdragon, but this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s slower. [Read more…]

HTC Tablet to use N-Trig Screen

N-Trig isn’t a well known company although you might have heard of the Microsoft [MSFT] Surface computer which uses these particular screens.

We now hear that the same company, N-Trig, will also be providing screens for the upcoming HTC Tablet devices. The screen for the HTC Tablet will of course be multi-touch.

The HTC Tablet is expected to be the Google Tablet much like the Nexus One was built for Google [GOOG] by HTC. The tablet is expected to run the new Chrome OS. [Read more…]

HTC Desire HD Android 2.2 Smartphone Spotted

The smartphone pictured here is supposed to be the HTC Desire HD. The device is said to run Android 2.2 from Google [GOOG] and have a large 4.3 inch touchscreen along with an 8 megapixel camera. The camera is capable of capturing video at 720p HD.

Powering the Desire HD is a 1GHz processor and 4GB of memory can also be found inside.

It isn’t clear if this device is the HTC Desire HD. Firstly, it’s a leaked shot with no “official” details known and secondly, PMPToday points out that it looks more similar to the HTC EVO 4G. [Read more…]

HTC Windows Phone 7 Device Spotted

Engadget over the weekend, managed to get some pictures of a HTC smartphone running Windows Phone 7. The device has a 3.7 inch SLCD screen along with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and an 8 megapixel camera.

The three buttons that can be seen under the screen are touch sensitive just like the Nexus One and are function as a back, windows and search button which falls in line with the three buttons Microsoft [MSFT] require on Windows Phone 7 smartphones.

The device is apparently ready in terms of the hardware although the software appears to be not finished in that there is no skinning with just the basic information showing. [Read more…]

HTC Desire HD Could Launch October

The HTC Ace was first spotted on a roadmap leak of UK phone launched a few weeks back. We now hear that the HTC Ace could be called the HTC Desire HD and include some decent specifications. We also hear that the HTC Desire HD could launch in October this year.

The specs of the new HTC Desire HD (if true of course) show that it has a 4.3 inch WVGA touchscreen. An 8 megapixel camera, 1GHz Qualcomm (Snapdragon?) processor, Android 2.2 Froyo, HD 720p video capture and 4GB of internal memory. [Read more…]

HTC Desire gets Android 2.2 Froyo Unofficially

The HTC Desire Android 2.2 update is a few months away yet. However, if you are willing to root your HTC Desire now, you can grab the unofficial update that has just been launched.

The good news with the HTC Desire Android 2.2 update is that it works very well according to those at XDA Developers with only a small amount of bugs. These bugs include no wallpapers, geolocalization not always working well and sometimes a reboot for unknown reasons. Although the last could be a problem, it seems like it isn’t that often to cause worry and it would get you Android 2.2 on your Desire now.

HTC HD2 gets Android 2.1

Last week a big milestone was reached in terms of getting Android from Google [GOOG] to run on the HTC HD2. Prior to last week the team working on getting Android on to the HD2 couldn’t get HaRET to function without crashing which meant that Android couldn’t be loaded up. By making some patches the team successfully loaded up HaRET on the HD2.

Moving on a few days and the team now have managed to get Android 2.1 and Windows Mobile 6.5 booting side-by-side on the device. The Android build runs on Ubuntu Linux.

The release is far from being ready at the moment as it has a few bugs that make it unstable. However a few things do work quite well including a responsive touchscreen. As with all ports on to another device, it takes a bit of time to work out the bugs and get it ready to use fully, so we estimate another month or so before it will become usable. [Read more…]

HTC EVO 4G Inductive Charging Mod Built with Palm Touchstone

Someone has managed to modify a Palm Touchstone wireless charger and Palm Pre back plate and make the necessary parts inside function in the HTC EVO 4G. The system allows the EVO 4G to charge by just resting the phone on the Touchstone charger.

The system was made by purchasing the necessary parts from Amazon. This includes the Palm Touchstone kit and back cover for $46. With a bit of hacking done on the back cover for the Pre the necessary parts were removed and put inside the EVO 4G and connected up in a way that allows it to charge wirelessly. [Read more…]

HTC EVO 4G Rooted – Gives Unlimted Free WiFi/Bluetooth Tether

For those of you who have or are getting a HTC EVO 4G, there’s some good news in that you will now be able to get unlimited free WiFi/Bluetooth tethering. To make this possible your new EVO 4G will need to be rooted.

The application used to achieve this is the Wireless Tether for Root users aka android-wifi-tether.

HTC EVO 4G Storage Bug

The HTC EVO 4G launches today in the US. The new smartphone is capable of 10X the download speed of a 3G phone making it the quickest around today. Of course, that assumes you are in a 4G area under good network circumstances. However, the launch was hit with a slight snag in that some reports are saying that a problem with the 8GB microSD card that ships with the EVO 4G in that there is a permissions problem that won’t let users write data to the card.

‘It seems to be fairly widespread among those who received the phones, says Andy Y, an Evo user who has been in touch with Google and HTC tech support over his faulty Evo SD card. ‘It’s a troubling trend. He has posted extensively on an online Android forum about his experience, where he says about 20 people have complained of similar problems.

HTC EVO 4G Ad Campaign from Sprint Launched

Sprint [S] is preparing for the launch of the HTC EVO 4G tomorrow by introducing the first ad for it.

The ad is very good and shows the evolution of technology from the wheel to a train, car and various other technologies ending up going through a bunch of mobile phones right to the end where the EVO 4G is unveiled.
