T-Mobile in the UK have uploaded details of the HTC HD2 to their site stating it has a launch date of November. The problem is that they have displayed the wrong phone and also stated that the HD2 will give access to the Android Market to download apps… seems they are getting a little confused there.

But, the release date does look about right and looking at other pages on the T-mob site they do refer to a Windows Phone based device running WM 6.5, so it seems the release date is correct and that someone just mixed up a few of the details. [Read more…]

The highly anticipated HTC HD2 has just been unboxed and uploaded to Youtube in the last day. Although the box used is just a temporary box, it’s still good to see the actual phone and what it looks like while booting up etc…

We are still waiting for a HD2 to arrive here and have been told that there are no review units around anywhere just yet… so someone must have a a secret stash of them somewhere… do tell if you are one of those who know.

Items included in the box are a charger, hands free kit along with inline controls as well as a USB cable for charging/syncing. On to the phone it’s self, the most striking feature of the HTC HD2 is the huge screen that the phone has. It measures 4.3 inches and is capacitive as well as being multi-touch. Powering the phone is a 1GHz snapdragon processor to make things run quicker than average. OS wise it runs Windows Phone (WM 6.5) that uses HTC sense style overlay to make things run a little nicer. Amazon are now taking pre-orders for the HTC HD2 in the UK preparing for a SIM free launch date of November 20 2009.

The HTC HD2 is one of the most anticipated phones of this year. It has a massive 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen, runs Windows Mobile 6.5 and has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor along with the usual plethora of connectivity options. The leaked image above was revealed by TMONews and shows that the phone is indeed heading to T-Mobile. Now, it doesn’t mention the name of the HD2 on the image but it looks suspiciously just like it and I don’t know of any other phone that has a 4.3″ touchscreen that runs a Snapdragon processor.

It seems like the phone will be making it to the US Q1 in 2010 making it arrive in just a few months time. [Read more…]

After a lot of speculation, HTC have now confirmed that the HTC HD2 is now official and that it will be coming to UK networks this month. The HD2 will run Windows Mobile 6.5 and have a massive 4.3 inch touchscreen display that will support multitouch and have a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels.

The HD2 will also use the HTC Sense user interface on top of Windows Mobile 6.5. Pocket-Lint say not to get too excited about that though as it seems very similar to TouchFLO that other HTC devices have running Windows. [Read more…]

A thread over at XDA Forums has revealed more information about the HTC HD2 / Leo smartphone including some technical specs, more pictures and general details about the hardware such as the screen type. Some of it we already know from previous leaks but a lot of the information is new. We already have heard it is going on to the O2 and T-Mobile networks in the UK. We have previously heard it will launch October 12 although some sources say 19th although that could depend on the network. Previously we heard that it will have a capacitive touchscreen. Lets see what else it will have…

At this point it is important to mention that this information has come from a user over on the XDA forums, so some might be speculative although they seem in line with what we would expect of a phone of this size. [Read more…]

Yesterday we reported that the HTC HD2 (formerly known as the HTC Leo) is to ship from O2 thanks to a photo captured of an O2 magazine which gives a page overview of the phone. We now hear from another source that T-Mobile will also be selling the HTC HD2 when it launches.

The information came earlier today from what seems to be someone working at T-Mobile who mentioned that the phone was starting to show up on their systems. Two reports came in and now confirmation has also come through to support this. [Read more…]

The HTC HD2, formally known as the HTC Leo, is getting ready for it’s UK launch. The HD2 is known for having a large screen measuring 4.3 inches and it will run the Windows Phone operating system (Windows Mobile 6.5).

The printed promotional article showing the HTC HD2 was spotted in an O2 magazine and the timing of the printed article does seem to indicate that we could be looking at an October 12 launch which we mentioned before.

The new phone will feature TouchFLO 3D version 2.5 and will come preinstalled with Twitter support, Facebook support as well as other software to work around the who social networking scene. Multitouch is also said to be a feature on this phone and the usual pinch style zooming functions will be available on the phone.

The HTC HD2 has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside along with 320MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM and a microSD slot to further increase storage capacity. [Read more…]

We hear today that the HTC HD2 is launching on October 12th. The HD2 was previously known as the HTC Leo and is a smartphone running the Windows Phone operating system (Windows Mobile 6.5). The HTC HD2 has a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen that runs at a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

The HTC Desire ROM was ported to the HTC HD2 earlier this week. The team at XDA Developers have now managed to port the same ROM over to the DROID Incredible, the HTC Desire and the EVO 4G.

If you go ahead and install the Desire HD ROM on your smartphone then just take note that the builds are not final and are very early in terms of getting it all working. For example, the camera is not working on any of the devices. Class the ports as a beta and a work in progress. [Read more…]

Drawings and pictures as well as a bit of rumour has been revealed about the HTC HD7. The only thing we don’t know at the moment is what it will be actually called. The image above shows it as the HD3, but most documents seen recently online show it as the HD7 which seems like its in answer to the Windows Phone 7 OS that it will run.

What we have now is the technical specs that reveal the handset is slightly larger than the HTC HD2. Size wise it measures 122 x 68 x 11.2 mm. For connectivity it works on the T-Mobile USA 3G frequency of 1700 MHz (might be just this model only) with other markets supporting other networks.

The HD7 is expected to be a flashship smartphone in terms of technical specs. [Read more…]

Some pictures of the HTC HD7 (or perhaps the HD3) have been posted online. The reason we are not so sure of the name at the moment is that it clearly says HD3 on the back of the device although earlier reports and documents leaked from O2 and other places indicate that the new Windows Phone 7 device will be called the HD7. It could be that this particular prototype is an early model before they changed the name of it.

The device its self looks just like the HTC HD7 drawings found on the web a few days back.

Either way, we know that the device above will run Windows Phone 7 and will be a step up from the popular HTC HD2. Hopefully this time around though, people wont want to remove Windows Phone 7 in favour of Android like they did with Windows Mobile 6.5 on the HD2. [Read more…]
