Maptor Concept Mapping Projector

maptorMaptor is a concept device that uses an inbuilt projector to throw a map of the current location on to a surface. It’s small enough to be worn around the neck. It has built in GPS that can track exactly where you are and then download the appropriate map and your favourite points of interest that are also projected.

The downside of this concept device is the projector. As of now there really isn’t a projector of such a small size that could successfully be used in daylight. Wallet MID – The Mystery Android Device?

eviGroup_wallet_midRecently we have been seeing various pictures of a MID that runs the Android OS. Today, eviGroup released some pictures of the Wallet MID that look very similar, if not the same, to the mysterious device we mentioned last week.

The Walled MID was first heard of back in May and was described as a device that is halfway between a cellphone and a tablet PC. It has a 5-inch screen and 7+ hours of battery life. As of now, it is unknown what processor powers the device. [Read more…]

Dell Android Photos and Specs

504x_DelloPhoneBGR’s ninjas found out some more details about the Dell Android phone. The specs could be as follows…

It will probably have a 3.5 inch display with a resolution of 640×360 pixels. GPS will be built in, a MicroSD slot for expanding storage capacity and a 3 megapixel camera.

Becker Z205 Launching in Germany

becker-Z205Becker have launched a new GPS unit over in Germany that looks fantastic. It is named the Becker Z205 and has a number of high-end features built in.

The Becker satnav device has a TMC Pro receiver built in that gives it the capability of grabbing the latest traffic updates. Text to speech is also included as well as voice command. The Z205 satnav uses Navteq’s Traffic Patterns system to estimate traffic conditions and patterns to help you plan a quicker route to your destination that avoids common busy traffic spots. The rugged tablet has a 13.3 inch screen that is visible in sunlight. The screen is also touchscreen allowing it to work well with a pen should you use it in tablet mode. Netbook TV Tuner to be Launched

haupmxL5007T1MaxLinear and Hauppauge Digital are working together to create a UMPC and netbook TV card. The netbook TV card will allow HD signals to be received over the air. The tv tuners for the netbook are based on the MXL5007T CMOS silicon tuner that MaxLinear builds.

As well as being able to pick up HD signals OTA the TV tuners will be capable of European standards that includes DVB-H, DMB-T, DVB-T and QAM. [Read more…]

Modu Phone Changes Functions with New Cases

moduModu have created a tiny phone that has interchangeable cases that allows different features to be used. Examples of cases could include a music based case that would move the phone to show more music features, or the GPS case which would allow for navigation to be used. The Modu phone is also the lightest phone.

As of now, four casings are available. The phone it’s self is quite basic in that it has just a 1.3 inch OLED screen, Bluetooth, (no wi-fi) and it isn’t even 3G. [Read more…]
