Garmin ASUS Nuvifone M10 Pre-Orders Start in Taiwan

The Garmin ASUS M10 is about to launch in Taiwan and the company are now taking pre-orders for the smartphone.

The Garmin M10 will run Windows 6.5.3 when launched. This particular version of Windows Phone has a thinner task bar along the top allowing for more space for applications to run.

Garmin-ASUS are to unveil their first Android smartphone this year at MWC 2010. The unveiling of the phone will be the beginning of what is believed to be 4 – 5 new Windows Mobile and Android phones being launched this year.

Saygus VPhone Hands-On

The VPhone was on show at CES in Las Vegas last week. The VPhone comes from a company called Saygus, a small company based in Utah. The VPhone allows for two-way calls to be made on the Verizon network and is part of Verizon’s [VZ] Open Development initiative.

The VPhone’s hardware specs show that it has an 806MHz processor (Marvell PXA 310), has 512MB of flash memory, 256MB of RAM and can support up to 16GB SDHC cards. The camera on the back of the phone can capture images at 5 megapixels while the one on the front used for video calls has a VGA resolution. [Read more…]

First ELSE Mobile Phone Hands-On

We managed to test the First ELSE Mobile Phone from a new company called ELSE Mobile at CES this week. From the few minutes we got to play with the phone you can tell they have a very unique and smart approach to the phone design. It was immediately easy to use and intuitive.

The keyboard was really good at figuring out what you typing, and despite it being small, it was pretty accurate. For being a pre-production phone, the UI was extremely fluid. The phone app was really cool. [Read more…]

CoPilot Live 8 for Netbooks/Laptops/Android and iPhone on Show

ALK Technologies were demonstrating their latest version of CoPilot Live 8 at CES running on the iPhone, Google Nexus One and a Dell Inspiron 1110 Netbook. Version 8 of the software has been available for several months now, but on display they were showing what they are capable of including what systems they support.

CoPilot Live 8 stores map data on the memory card of your phone meaning that you do not need to rely on a data connection for it to function. This makes navigation a little more reliable for times when the phone lacks signal. At this point other “on-line” navigation programs can fail you. [Read more…]

Lenovo Lephone on Show at CES

Lenovo have created an Android OS based phone called Lephone. The Android operating system on the Lephone has been through a complete facelift and according to MobileCrunch the phone has hardly any of the original OS sticking out.

It is expected that the phone will run Android 2.0 when launched although Lenovo declined to comment on which version of Android would be in there.

The screen on the Lephone is very impressive at 3.7 inches with a nice resolution of 800 x 480. The screen is also OLED. There appears to be no physical buttons on the face of the phone with just volume buttons on the left and a programmable button on the right of the phone. The bottom area below the screen is touch-sensitive allowing for soft keys as well as gestures to be input. [Read more…]

New Dell Mini 10 with Intel Atom N450 Launches Today

Dell have launched their new Dell Mini 10 netbook that comes supplied with the all new Intel Atom N450 processor.

The new Dell Mini 10 is thinner and has a more sleek design. The keyboard on this netbook measures 92% of a full keyboard and the palm rest area is now textured allowing for less smudges to appear on the lower side of the netbook.

For the Mini 10 a new hinge has been created allowing a slimmer device that can still hold a decent sized battery. Three batteries are available for the Mini 10 with the 3 cell version offering 4 hours of usage while the two 6 cell versions offer about 8.5 and 9.5 hours each. Also both the 3 cell and 6 cell batteries measure the same size meaning that the mini 10 netbook wont have any additional bulk if you opt for the larger of the batteries. [Read more…]

Rumour: Google Nexus One on AT&T

BGR have posted a rumour/unconfirmed information about the Google Nexus One being made available unlocked on the AT&T network. The AT&T version will be 3G compatible. The person who provided the information to BGR also said that it will be a second unlocked model with T-Mobile still having the unsusidized version although I assume both types of phone will be sold on the Google site as previously mentioned.

Although just a rumour and very unconfirmed at the moment, we only have to wait till the 5th (next week) to see what Google has planned for the phone if that is what the press event is about. [Read more…]

Google Phone Nexus One Specs Revealed

We have heard a lot recently about the Google Nexus One (N1) which has been rumoured to be launching soon. Finally we have the official specs to go along with what looks to be a fantastic phone.

The Nexus One will be a tri-band phone (900/1700/2100 MHz) UTMS and quad-band GSM which allows it to work on the T-Mobile network in the US. Features include a 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen that according to one person who had a look at the phone said it was the best looking screen they had seen. [Read more…]

Pedal Brain iPhone App

Pedal Brain is a new app launching soon for the iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to track cycling in a similar way to how Nike+ functions. The application is described as being far more powerful than the Nike+ running version though.

The Pedal Brain system uses the ANT+ wireless protocol to connect devices together and let them all communicate with your iPhone. By attaching a special receiver to your iPhone the application is capable of capturing data and then allowing you to look over it after your journey is complete. [Read more…]
